40k at the usual locations looks possible today, and only 15% drop, it's a good day

It's incredible. 32% of its available seats are already sold out at Toho Cinemas 3 days out, for its 11th Saturday...

Toho Cinema's presales alone, 3 days out, are more than twice as high as the overall presales last Saturday. Toho Cinema's presales alone, 3 days out, are also just above the overall presales from three Saturdays ago.

Not predicting it yet, since if it misses some might see it as "disappointing" (...), but a weekend around ¥1 billion is looking possible.

All week.

Since there aren't too many 4DX equipped theaters, they'll be sold out for long time.

I just want this weekend to be over ¥700.3mn to beat the Frozen record. Obviously if he does not manage to have an increase of 80% and reach this mark, it does not matter but in any case if DS exceeds ¥700mn it would be incredible and even any result above ¥700mn would be incredible.

¥1bn that would be more than incredible, unheard of for an 11th weekend, if someone had told me that several weeks ago I wouldn't have believed it. But even if he does not reach ¥1bn I will not be at all disappointed, anyway the Demon Slayer's run is so incredible that at this stage nothing can disappoint me anymore.

Yes. Keep Frozen's current 11th weekend record as the goal to beat this weekend, not significantly more. Can it go significantly higher? Sure, it's looking quite likely judging by the current presales, but just think of anything more as the cherry on top versus setting expectations up there.

I think you already said it somewhere but how much does a 4DX cinema ticket cost, and an IMAX cinema ticket compared to a normal ticket ?

And could you give me the link to the daily updated numbers for Demon Slayer admissions at the usual locations ?

Nice DS is drawing such huge demo of people that it's inevitable to get some boost from elementary school holidays. Great to see Doremon doing well also.

WOW. That's insane. Mimorin used to do Chain wise data on website, they don't now, so its hard to do context wise numbers.

This roughly translate that 85% of ticket in these 422 shows are sold. Overall should be around 60%. That's insane one and half day out. 60% means about 110k tickets already sold out of 185k Approx in AEON.

The opening Friday was 85-90k out of 230k on Thursday before release.

As compared to opening day Friday at 18:30 Thursday
TOHO: 175,129/510,611 34.3%

The number of shows in AEON is 75-80% of its opening day. Say overall reaches 60-65%, that will mean a potential 500-600k usual locations is possible. WOW.

Yeah, Aeon Cinemas is the only chain still at 50% capacity, so all their showings are marked as "half-full" when you go to their website.

HOWEVER, all their 4D showings being sold out is excellent. And about 10% of the standard showings being sold out this far out is also excellent, as are so many showings marked as 80% full (even if it's misleading).

And today does begin the first impact of the holiday season. Doraemon being up over 125% at the midday point is the determining factor. And I wasn't quite expecting Demon Slayer to increase yet (was expecting a mostly flat day), but it's looking likely to do so, even if it may be a single-digit increase. This is an early sign it's going to really thrive during the holidays if it's experiencing an increase right now.

This is also a good early example of how different films behave during the holidays. Doraemon is currently up well over 100%, while some others films are down up to 50% or more. It will only get more extreme next week when the holidays are in full effect.

Saturday presales at TOHO cinemas 3 Days Out

55,590/154,345 36.02%

As compared to opening day Friday at 18:30 Thursday
TOHO: 175,129/510,611 34.3%

The number of shows in AEON is 75-80% of its opening day. Say overall reaches 60-65%, that will mean a potential 500-600k usual locations is possible. WOW.

500k-600k this weekend at the usual locations ? No, I think maybe you exaggerate a little, these are figures comparable to the 6th weekend, it seems inconceivable to me
