Post Re: Japan Box-Office: 12/26-27 Ests.; Demon Slayer All-Time
Well no need to grow on Tuesday, as Monday itself will be at level I thought Tuesday will be after growing like films in past few Christmas did.

Don't think it as Tuesday growing over Monday, basically 30 th Dec > 29th Dec > 28th December in last few years

¥759.4 million ($7.5 million) - Frozen.

And I do not know if Demon Slayer will beat this. It would do it with a 16.3% drop next weekend, but... I just don't know if that's doable after increasing 133%! this weekend. Next weekend is a holiday weekend (both bank holidays), and everything else will be up (except possibly Wonder Woman and Kamen Rider) as expected over the New Year weekend, but we're talking about coming off of a 133%! increase in Demon Slayer's case.

It'll drop, pretty confident in saying that, but how much? It's come down ~35% or so following past post-giveaway weekends, but this weekend's increase is 90% higher than the last weekend (its ninth) when it increased.

Just need to wait and see. This is all unprecedented, as it has been since day one.

Agreed I don't think DS will take the record.

Yes it will drop but the difference is that this upcoming weekend is a holiday weekend while other post giveaway weekends are just normal weekends.

It will be very close but it won't reach the mark. I see it doing somewhere between 15%-30% drop which means there is a chance it will break the record but most likely it won't.

¥759.4 million on its 12th weekend ? the Frozen japan run was totally epic wtf. Me next week I don't think there will be a big big drop but the drop won't be low enough to exceed the record of the 12th weekend of Frozen. I'm thinking more of a weekend around ¥600mn-¥700mn and a drop around 20%-30%, but after that I'm not sure because we really can't know, the drop might be more important, who knows. What is most likely anyway is that Demon Slayer will fail to break Frozen's record, but that remains to be seen.

On the other hand this weekend really impressed me and especially the incredible Sunday which helped Demon Slayer exceeded ¥900mn on his 11th weekend. And after 11 weekends, Demon Slayer is still above almost ¥10Bn from Spirited Away, it's just amazing.

@Corpse and others, do you now think that ¥35Bn-¥36Bn (26M-27M admissions) is locked or we still have to wait to find out ? And what is locked for you today ? PS : How is Monday going now ?

Nice Sun Actual there.

For 12th record, DS has to be +95% from two weekends earlier. With 4DX and what seems to be good holiday boost I think I will consider it favored to happen, but just barely.

Wait, the record isn't entirely out of box. 750mn is entirely possible.

Since Mon was discount day, shouldn't Tuesday be less pre-sale loaded than Mon and growth in pre-sales means much bigger growth in actuals?
