Be Cool's projected drop of 32.2% on Sunday seems a bit low to me, so expect the actuals to have its weekend about $1 million lower than the estimates.

M$B is the number I'm looking for.

Shouldn't the estimate for Winn Dixie be 3.45 million since that is what the dailies add up too?

Nice numbers for the Pacifier. Seems like Vin Diesel just saved his own career. Be Cool did pretty good also but Im expecting the movie to drop 50% next week, the reaction was rather lukewarm in my theater, there wasnt quite that many laughs.

It has already made $97,056,000 and is a 100% lock for $100 million. Won't go too far beyond that, though.

Miramax's six hour movie--THE BEST OF YOUTH is doing well. (Considering this movie only has 3 screenings per day.)

15.9% for M$B. How does that compare to other BP bumps? The only one I can pull up at BOM is ROTK.

Chicago rose 16.8%, A Beautiful Mind rose 20.7% and American Beauty rose 27.4% I believe.

EDIT: A Beautiful Mind rose 20.7% on the Oscar weekend and dropped 4.8% the weekend after the Oscars.

Technically, Be Cool only topped Get Shorty's opening by about $4-5M, as a $12M opening in 1995 would adjust to about $19M now.

Yes, that is true, but I am talking about without inflation!

I'm curiosu why anyone thinks that John Travolta can open a film strongly anymore. I mean, really, 70 mill for Ladder 49 isn't really because of him. And this movie opening with less than Vin's is just more proof that his star, while far from extinguished, is not as bright as it was in the mid 90's.

Of course. Get Shorty will be the higher grosser out of the two unless a miracle happens. BTW, The Pacifier might reach $100m it it has the same multiplier (3.4) as Racing Stripes which also had direct competition in its second week.
