I personally am not shocked as everyone else with the Friday night opening of Diary. My one self would wonder about this "Black - note it is in the title" but after the abuse I took asking about the XXXXXX with Hitch being the #1 Romantic comedy opening ever, I won't say that again. Now, it could be that lots of KJ users saw this movie on opening night but with it's bad RT rating, I still think there is more to this number. DIARY OF A MAD BLACK WOMAN 7.10 - Friday opening only And surprise, here are the 3 top BO movies of 2005 2005 DOMESTIC GROSSES 1 Hitch Sony $101,008,218 2 Are We There Yet? Sony $72,366,449 3 Coach Carter Par. $65,277,141 Then maybe these were the 3 best movies of the year? |

Off to the movies so final point that people are missing in Box's copycat thread. There is a big difference in the movies that blacks and non-blacks see. And also how the BO openings of some of these movies are almost like horror movies that get a big Friday or opening weekend and then start dropping. Look at Ice Cube's movies especially as that is viewed differently by ............. |

That is kind of interesting that the top 3 films of 2005 currently are "urban" films. |
