China should release it as a horror movie with Xi Jinping as the monster, it could be a documentary.

The Bikeriders has moved to next summer. That's weird. I thought that was going to be a big player in this season's award circuit.

Early word for it was good. Seems like it can be a crowd pleaser too so they may have thought it best to position it as a quality summer adult film among what looks to be a generally weaker summer slate.

My theory is that 2024 will be a better year than expected but 2025 will flop. Looks like a ton of superhero movies and CGI live action remakes, plus possibly 2 Fast and Furious movies, Dead Reckoning Part 2, etc. All of it sounded better when they were planned a few years ago than now when it seems like the era is changing. I guess if Avatar 3 and Frozen 3 comes out it could redeem the year though, and Wicked Part 2 if the first hits. Don’t see Wonka 2 or Dune 3 coming that fast and it sounds like Mario Bros 2 is also slow moving.

I think Disney's live actioners will do better that year.

Moana's animated version is fairly recent and was well received and with The Rock feel the floor is $150M+ anyway (he probably single handedly added $100M to Black Adam). Inflation as well by then. Think even with the live action shift it will be a hit.

Snow White is the biggest live action remake wildcard but the character is so iconic for them, and I do think HG's success helps Snow White with the same star in each. More people will watch the new HG over the next two years and feel it could surpass expectations.

Jan. 2025 looks awesome though with Megan 2.0 and Paddington 3 opening the same weekend. That at least will be a fun weekend! Megington! :funny:

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire moves up a week to March 22, 2024.

Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire moves up two weeks to March 29, 2024, taking the place of Mickey 17 which is now undated.

I love how we'll have no big movies for two months than have Dune 2, Kung Fu Panda 4, Ghostbusters, and Godzilla/Kong in a 5 week span.

One of these should have moved to mid Feb. It's a good move for Godzilla though as it will have Easter.

Mickey 17 is being delayed indefinitely. :(

Not really a release date change, but Godzilla Minus One Minus Color is coming for a 1 week run Jan. 26th! This feels like it would be really good in B&W.

Didn't realise Feb was as bad as it is in terms of films being released.

Leads me to believe that Feb films like Argyle and One Love can break out + even expected disappointments like Madame Web and Lisa Frankenstein can do Ok business.

Really hope it gets a decent amount of theaters. Would love to see this in theaters again!
