Great news for me but I think they should have put it under the Premium Access just to make the people who wasted money on Mulan feel better about themselves. :funny:

Promising Young Woman will apparantly come out in theaters on Christmas, with an option to go on digital 17 days later thanks to the deal with AMC in regards to theatrical window.

I don’t understand why the studios keep pushing films, like do they expect theaters to still exist if nothing gets released? Even if it’s a quick run, would definitely help the bottom line to get some sort of gross, I think. Even if a vaccination became widely available, surely business will still be down for awhile.

It’s not just a studio issue. The theaters also must buy and accept the film. Tenet before all the remarketing costs has only brought in about 130 million to WB. Plus it’s not like the normal amount of films are shooting again either. If they do and their becomes a backlog, they’ll have no choice to take their chances theatrically or digitally.

This actually looks good and could be one of the few films worth going to see.

Why? Studios are just being stupid now.

Maybe because of the new lockdowns?

Are there further lockdowns imposed in US? I thought there won't be any more lockdowns now but only recommendations to follow protocols.

Not full on lockdowns but theaters will close. In my area if we go above a certain case rate (which I feel will surely happen) 2 weeks in a row then theaters will close. Sucks, wanted to see Freaky next week.

We are finally out of lockdown here and theatres are opening but there are very few films to actually show so old films are shown plus the occasional new one like Tenet or a few indie titles.

Godzilla vs. Kong potentially going on Netflix or HBO Max... I'm sorry but this seems idiotic since they have not started marketing it but I guess they'll wait to see if WW worked.

I don't see why they would send this to Netflix. It should go to HBO Max.

This one actually makes a lot of sense. King of the Monsters sucked and bombed domestically. They should have just taken the $200M from Netflix. GvK and WW84 are gonna get a bunch of free trials, but since HBO is lacking a hot show right now they probably won’t stay. Another panic boner by AT&T.

At the very least I hope that, if the decide to send Godzilla vs Kong to Netflix/HBO max, they release it simultaneously in theaters.

While I would watch it at home (though HBO max still hasn't arrive to my country), some movies are meant to be experienced on the big screen, and for me this is one of them.
