What's the new date? That's the old one and it was moved off that. Which is actually too bad because then there's no kids movie opening over the holiday weekend. Only Glass is scheduled there.

You're getting slow, Spidey. EVEN Box Office Mojo's had those listed for about a week! :funny:

Jacob's Ladder has moved from its February 1st release to an unknown date. No surprise there.

I find it strange that Mrs. Bala, a very random film with no star power, has opening weekend all to itself, and the very next weekend there are 4 films, including Lego 2. I know it's the superbowl weekend but it's kind of silly for most films to be afraid of it. Almost anything would be fine there - unless you're a couples film that wants to clean up on Valentine's day. Taken opened on SB weekend for Christ sake.

Super Bowl is likely the big reason people aren't releasing there, even if there have been successes in the spot. But I feel movies also wanted to keep their distance from Glass.

Untitled Charlize Theron-Seth Rogen comedy (formerly known as Flarsky) - May 3 (from June 7)

Where’d You Go, Bernadette - August 9 (March 22)

May and August are packed while March is getting emptier.

And no idea why Flarsky moved to May? It's ridiculously packed this year.

Paramount has dated the Alexandre Aja alligator horror flick Crawl for August 23rd. I'm excited for it but August is so packed. Not sure it's a great date. Also it's only 2 weeks before It: Chapter 2. Oh well, at least it will have a few summer days to take advantage of. Aja's Piranha 3D did ok releasing at this time but the month also wasn't as competitive that year. I hope they'll have a trailer to attach to Pet Sematary.

Schedule looks pretty shit.

If the "blockbusters" go the way of Glass, it'll be a horrible first third of the year.

There is no balance, so many dead weekends.

The first two months were always going to be average and much weaker than last year. March and April will counter that though - both should be strong.

Plenty of time for one final shove to Netflix.

It was originally going up against Child's Play which was crazy. One of them had to move. January is definitely a better fit for it though. But now it's with some Untitled Blumhouse movie and I can't imagine both of those open together.
