There's something about saying MEMORIAL DAY which sounds epic for blockbusters. March 13th doesn't have any ring to it. Universal strong-armed Warner Bros. out of a great spot and WB will probably lose out now.

Annabelle 3 has been moved up to June 28, 2019.

The new Kingsman film has moved to Valentine's Day 2020 from its November 2019 release, Bond's old spot.

Now 47 Meters Down: Uncaged should definitely move as well as Child's Play.

Good move for Ford V. Ferrari.

It's an awards play. Not sure that will help its box office, though. It needs to be really good. But racing movies do not have a great track record in terms of awards or box office. It has its work cut out.

Sony has given Hotel Transylvania 4 a December 22, 2021 release date. The studio has also removed two Untitled Sony Animated Franchise films from April 3, 2020 and July 24, 2020 release dates.

It's cool that they've realised the way to carry on with these HT movies is to connect them with seasons. I suspect the fourth will be a Christmas-themed installment. Though I think it's opening way too late if that's the case. It should open early ala The Grinch.

I would think if it is Christmas themed they'd go earlier. If it's not Christmas themed though they need to go back to a September release date.

Aquaman 2 - December 16, 2022

The character must be in some other movie, no way they have a 4 year gap.

I imagine they want to keep that sweet mid/late December slot without running into an Avatar film.

They should honestly go for 2021. 4 years is an even bigger gap than Wonder Woman.

December worked wonderfully but I see this moving to 2021 sometime.

Rambo: Last Blood - September 20, 2019

Not a bad date, I guess. I mean, it's not a competitive date. But it's still, ugh, September. So it will struggle to make a blip. I guess it has to aim for matching Resident Evil: Afterlife's $26m. Anything over that would be great.

That's actually a decent date for Rambo. A nice slot between IT and Joker that could net it $50-$60m total.

If that's all it aims for, then why bother.
