I believe Top Gun moved to June 24th instead of June 26th.

Isn't The Nightingale on DVD there? That's a weird release strategy plus I don't think it will be a big awards contender anyways. Escape Room 2 should do well.

Re: Release Date Change Thread
April never felt right regarding Bond. November is its real home.
That said - I was looking forward to seeing it sooner rather than later. Leaves behind a bit of a wasteland but understandable under the current Coronamania.

It's a different movie called The Nightingale. This one with the Fanning sisters. I wish the Jennifer Kent movie had gotten a wide release here . Saint Maud has moved its wide release to April 10th now. I was always wanting it to release Easter weekend so this makes me happy. Perfect date for another blasphemous A24 horror movie.

Funny that Daniel Craig is hosting SNL this weekend, 8 months before his movie.

Re: Release Date Change Thread
Lionsgate has removed Antebellum (April 24), Run (May 8) and Spiral (May 15) from their scheduled release dates.
Universal has pulled Minions: The Rise of Gru from its July 3rd release date. Illumination will not be able to complete the film in time due to COVID-19.

Re: Release Date Change Thread
When theaters reopen, they should probably start with lower profile pictures initially anyway. We don’t want Wonder Woman’s performance to be negatively affected, even though most likely theaters will reopen by then.

Re: Release Date Change Thread
I’m thinking Disney will try slotting Mulan for Memorial Day if theaters are open. I think Black Widow will move to November.

That WW1984 slot was where I would've put Mulan. I think Mulan in September or October would be fine.

I doubt they reopen until at least towards the end of summer. But I hope to be wrong.

Yes I think (hope) June end things will get under control and then towards end of July some theaters might open with social distancing.

Re: Release Date Change Thread
Even when theatres re-open - it will take months before audiences are comfortable with returning in substantial numbers. At some point there will be a tipping point where the pent up demand for a film/blockbuster exceeds the trepidation of visiting a theatre and that film will reap the rewards. Timing will be critical.
