Wise business move BUT I think it could have become a Barbenheimer type event though with The Exorswift.

Blum posted Exorswift as an event and this might actual really help make that movie get more attention now. It's the closest we have to replicating Barbenheimer.

Dumb Money has moved up a week to Sept. 29th to give space with Swift. Smart move and could overperform.

One Love on Valentine's Day is a brilliant release date. $40M+ weekend? Will Spider-Marley be a thing?

Looks like a deal has been struck between the Writer's Guild and Studios.

Now SAG needs to do the same.

Mean Girls is a film adaptation of the Broadway musical, while Hamilton was a filmed version of the stage production.

This may be the closest thing ever to a Mean Girls sequel we'll see. I think it could be a serious box office performer as the first film is very endeared to millennials and GenZ.

Tina Fey and Tim Meadows are back. Added to the cast are Jenna Fischer, Busy Philipps and Jon Hamm. Solid star power for this type of movie. Also lately I've noticed when movies have gone from streaming to theaterical they have been decently good (ex. Smile).

For now going with $125M. Here's hoping for an after credits scene with Lohan and Rachel as the cast enters the Mean Girls multi-verse.

Looks like Beyonce Renaissance Tour could come out Dec 1st

I'll see it but I'm not looking forward to the Beyhive's reaction to it making 1/5th of what the Taylor Swift movie makes.

The Beyonce thing will flop next to Swift. She should save herself the embarrassment.

Looks like Beyonce doesn’t play many of her pre 2010 hits (the best version of her). I’ll pass.

She has the same terms set as Swift. Just feels like a cash grab that won't play out well due to the optics of being so close to Swift. Even something like MLK weekend I feel like it could do pretty well. It's getting the weekend after Thanksgiving slot which is usually a dumping ground.

Renaissance is $3 more per ticket than Eras lol. Just completely delusional as you'd expect from something involving Beyonce.

Of course I complain and then will end up buying it anyway.

I went to a Beyonce concert in 2007. It was solid but low on the list of concerts I've attended. That was at her peak.

Right now, I'd say this is going to be an embarrassing flop - especially when compared to Swift.

Kevin Costner's western saga will be released over two movies next year:

Horizon “Chapter 1” will be released on June 28, 2024, and “Chapter 2” will land on Aug. 16, 2024

Given how big Yellowstone has gotten, this feels like its 2 $100M+ movies added to the calendar next summer as it has big appeal in the heartland feel they will still do well in the summer against other big tentpoles.

Furiosa will also be launching at Cannes so looks primed to be quality and could certainly outpace Fury Road.
