Disney is also looking at live action Bambi directed by Sarah Polley... I guess they're not out of the live action remake business yet

That one’s gotta go straight to Disney plus right no one would pay to watch that.

Re: Release Date Change Thread
I'm very intrigued by the Sarah Polley addition to Bambi. Seems like it could be very different from some of the other imaginings which is welcomed as they seem to be following the same formula the last 15 years.

The desolation of the 2024 release schedule begins.

Re: Release Date Change Thread
I wonder how long it will be before Disney starts doing live action remakes of Pixar animated movies? Feel like they'll resort to that eventually as Disney looks to milk its franchises for eternity. Can't wait to see the Cars / Fast movie crossover as Dom visits Radiator Springs and meets new members of his family like his Uncle Mater and fifth long lost brother Lightning McQueen.

Re: Release Date Change Thread
Honestly, a live-action Incredibles would probably be big. Maybe there's some superhero fatigue and it remains to be seen if it's prolong, but as long as it wasn't a bad film, it'd be a smash I think.
And while Disney and not Pixar, a live-action Big Hero 6 could be good. It could even be a Marvel Studios project since it's Marvel.

Venture Bros movie - July 21. Can't wait! Wish Max would give it a small theateical release but there's no chance it will happen.

How long until Beyond the Spiderverse gets pushed back a year or more. No way it makes its March 24 release date.

Plus from podcasts I’ve listened too it seems like there is still a ton of animation to be done. The second film took 3-4 years to master the various animation types. Sure they have a head start on Beyond but it needs more time. Bummer though.

Re: Release Date Change Thread
... so with the strike that may really affect scheduling next year. Maybe Aquaman gets moved yet again to next year among other stuff so studios have stuff to release.
I think one of the 3 big films in November should move.

Re: Release Date Change Thread
I was about to mention the strike.
Just saw that the cast of Oppenheimer walked out of their own premiere, I guess as the strike became official. So... little/no marketing involving the cast of many/most films for the foreseeable future.
Warner Bros. lucked out having Barbie's premiere two days ago.

Re: Release Date Change Thread
Next year’s release schedule will be decimated - something theatres can’t really afford given recent years.

I think alot of fall movies could shift to summer and be better off for it. Wonka is the only thing that absolutely needs Christmas to succeed.

Re: Release Date Change Thread
I just remember how barren the schedule felt in 2021-2022, and we were finally getting back into the swing of things when the strikes happened.
Praying they come to an agreement soon for everyone benefit.

Re: Release Date Change Thread
I like Aquaman in summer. Not sure about Dune. That movie needs to go somewhere it will have more than one week of imax. Though if Marvels moves to take Deadpool's date then Dune would have the 14 days exactly where it is.

Re: Release Date Change Thread
Speaking of The Marvels... I was at McDonald's today and they have Happy Meal toys for it already? I don't think they usually have movie tie-ins until the week before/during release.
