I think 9 could drop below 200m domestic, but they're going to market the living hell out of 10 as the finale so that should do very well.
The biggest problem the franchise has at the moment is a warring cast. It's going to be difficult to get half these guys in the same room again, then you've got Michelle Rodriguez who has publicly claimed she won't come back if she doesn't like how her character is written. Alas, it looks like David Leitch (Deadpool 2, John Wick, Atomic Blonde) will direct the Untitled Hobbs spinoff. Not a bad choice at all...but come on, no one is Shane Black. Too bad it didn’t work out. Also, Variety confirms Justin Lin on FF9. _________________
