I wonder why Weather Man moved so suddenly?

Why did they move the Weatherman? I wanted to see it kick Sin City's butt so badly. You cant go wrong with Nick Cage and the director of POTC to beat out some comic book movie

So am I.

Last month, I had already seen the big poster of "The Weather Man" in a theater.

The poster has been in my local theater for several months. Perhaps production delays? Or maybe the studio has little hope in the film?

Gotcha. Just wondering.

I'd guess it's from stiff competition, Sin City is also an R rated movie for adults.

Post subject:

True. Sin City is going to bomb anyway though.

I think they moved Weather Man because they have MORE hope in the movie than less, I think the average word on the street is that people really like the trailer and want to see the film.

Smart decision. It's almost never a good idea to go up against a blockbuster as big as Star Wars, no matter how different the target audiences are.

That might be a good move. However as counter-programming it might have worked (similar to when The Lizze McGuire movie was released against X2).

If all those movies keep the August 12th release date. All of them will open under $20m.

Domino - $18m
Dark Water - $15m
The Skeleton Key - $12m

Obviously, Domino, Dark Water and The Skeleton Key won't all remain. All three of them are female-led action or horror films.
