Considering it's cast, you're not going to make that type of film much cheaper. Still, it might not make it's money back just from domestic only. |

LA Times reported it was $70m back in 2013, but everywhere else says $54m. |

Ah cool. So how much do you think Stallone and Arnold got paid for that? And was it even, I guess so. For Hades I imagine Stallone must have gotten something like $2 million (total guess by the way, but at least 10% of the budget feels right). |

I really have no clue. These are just thoughts: Not sure he would have gotten out of bed for $2m. I'm thinking closer to $5m. He is THE star. They are promoting it as a Stallone movie. Whether he's the real lead or not is besides the point. To be able to promote it as a Stallone film will cost them, and really does the film look like it costs $20m? I guess it does, but it was shot in Atlanta, which is cheap, and it features loads of cheap actors (Metcalfe, Chatham, Chinese girl, Xiaoming, that warden) so Stallone and Bautista are the only ones getting a real paycheck out of this. I'd say Stallone is getting $5m and Bautista is getting $3m. Everyone else is getting under $1m. Xiaoming would do it for much less because he wants to become an international star and this is how he thinks he will do it (but he will never become an international star because he has no talent). |

Cool, thanks for those thoughts, that does sound very plausible. I'm pretty clueless about what actors (can) earn nowadays, but it's interesting in terms of films' overall budgeting. I read somewhere Stallone was paid $10m for Escape Plan so, if he's not getting anything less than $5m for Hades, where he really has a lot less to do also, that makes sense. I do wonder also, how these actor contracts are generally set up in terms of the work responsibilities and time put in. Like is there ever a situation where an actor would say; "Hey, I didn't sign up for this". |

Well, the stunts won't be cheap, but it's shooting all over the world that ramps up the cost, plus the salaries for all involved as this franchise is going from strength to strength. |
