After missing the No. 1 spot by 0.85 % last weekend, DM3 will reclaim the No. 1 spot in its 6th weekend and might cross the 4m admissions mark tomorrow - no movie (including ROGUE ONE) made it to 4m last year...

Weak openers but rainy weather helped the holdovers...

Germany is IT country...

Judging by Thursday sales, IT is headed to at least 750,000 admissions = $8.25m opening, but I wouldn't rule out up to $11m...

Post subject:  Re: Germany Box-Office Thread

So IT is not frontloaded at all... It will do 1m admissions (2nd best opening of the year, 9th best opening of all-time with "16 years" rating). $11m for the weekend...

And Tuesday is a national holiday...

How big will SW8 be. SW7 did over 10 million admissions right?

SW 7 did 9m admissions...
My guess for SW8 is around 7m - looks like a fight between local blockbuster FACK JU GÖHTE 3 and SW8 for the 2017 crown... (in b.o. SW8 will be the clear winner though)

IT stays No. 1 for the fourth week in a row... Next week will paint a very different picture when local blockbuster FACK JU GÖHTE 3 is released...

Local blockbuster FJG3 delivered the
-biggest opening of the year
-the biggest October opening of all-time
-the 25th biggest opening weekend of all-time
-the 8th biggest opening weekend of all-time (box office)

There is something deeply satisfying about local films being hits in their respective country.

Indeed, Algren, indeed...

opening week is even more impressive:
-10th biggest opening week of all-time
-2nd biggest opening week of all-time (box office)

Is the first figure for admissions?

You'd have to assume it is, otherwise mark66 has made a mistake twice.

Looks like JUSTICE LEAGUE will open with a paltry 250,000 admissions (i.p.). - that's not even No. 1 (that's still local blockbuster FJG3) and on the same level as last week's BAD MOMS 2 or MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS...

Comparisons (all including previews):
256,522 Wonder Woman
294,315 Man of Steel
576,247 Suicide Squad
630,432 Batman v Superman

So on par with Wonder Woman's OW in Germany then. If its the case with all markets then JL will end with a HUGE $100m+ OS drop from BvS' $542m OS take.

Uh, oh, JL might even land in third place behind the 2nd (!) weekend of ORIENT EXPRESS...

Post subject:  Re: Germany Box-Office Thread

JL trailed ORIENT EXPRESS on Saturday as well and is only 30 % better than THOR III's third Saturday!

In admissions it is now certain that JL will be the worst DC Universe opener and is in a tight fight with ORIENT for the No. 2 spot (reminder: We're talking here about the 2nd weekend of ORIENT)...
