Maybe there is something I don't know about Boogeyman...but what do people think it'll do much better than Darkness Falls? |

With the recent strength in the horror genre, I think it should open to around $20 million. It won't be quite as good though due to the superbowl. |

I think it's going to be extremely frontloaded on Friday and Saturday, so most of it's business will be done by the time the Superbowl rolls around. Also, the traget audience for Boogeyman aren't exactly the biggest sports fans in the world. |

The trailers/tv spots are really, really good and abundant. Of note though, there was an immense amount of online advertising for Darkness Falls and that film only opened to $12 million. I see a similar amount of advertising for Boogeyman, but I think that other forms of advertising has been more abundant. There have been ads for this film for several months now and I think that should help its opening weekend quite a bit. |

As of now, I expect a similar pattern to Hide & Seek and White Noise, with an $8.1-$8.5 million opening day, and then a slight increase on Saturday to $9.0 million. Sunday should see a drop of 50-60% with a total of $19.5 million-$21 million. |

I think the pattern will be more like this... Opening day: $10.5 Second day: $10.0 Third day: $5.0 Around $25-26 million for the weekend, though I think it could go higher. |

I'm not sure. Just a feeling I get. The first time I saw the trailer was in front of The Grudge and it got a rabid reaction, and I haven't seen anything sense to sway my opinion that it won't be a hit. The marketing has been borderline outstanding, and it actually looks good, which I think is key. |

I rekon around $15,000,000 for BOOGEYMAN, And i know i love horror, but i'm lowballing this one just incase....Although it's marketing is WELL better than HIDE AND SEEK, and that's doing $20M+ this weekend. Plus, it's Sam Ramai. and he had the GRUDGE, which damn right rulled the box office. So yeah, im predicting $15,000,000 due to horror overload, but it could well be over $20m. ALl the best to it. |
