And Million dollar baby! Wow.

Elektras WOM was shite i guess.

Ring 2 will do around £1,600,000 this weekend.

You don't think it will open higher than White Noise? hmmm i thought it might open a little higher than that, maybe £2million, i don't know, the preview screening i went to tonight was sold out on the biggest screen, the showing before and after were both sold out too.

While i did enjoy the movie, i was slightly let down by it... but by no means as much as people have been saying round here. There were some good set pieces, loved the bathroom scene! and the line from Watts at the end. But thats all it seemed to be, set piece... plod along a bit.... set piece. It just didn't flow and wasn't that scary. I gave it a C+ in the end, much better than White Noise/Hide and Seek etc though.

Thanks xiayun

The Will Smith romantic comedy held the second spot in the United Kingdom with $2.2 million in its fifth weekend (off 32%), just behind "The Ring Two's" $3.4 million opening, lifting "Hitch's" U.K. cume to $26.9 million.

So the Ring 2 opens with $3.4million (£1.87million) which is just a tiny bit under expected i suppose, somewhat underwhelming, only just beating White Noise's opening of £1.78Million.

Weekend Actuals April 1 - 3 (£'s)

1 The Ring two 2,062,792 NEW
2 Be cool 1,196,884 NEW
3 Hitch 1,073,241 -35
4 Robots 998,046 -32
5 Valiant 921,359 -16
6 Miss.Congeniality 2 695,395 -47
7 Constantine 500,554 -49
8 Hostage 263,451 -4
9 The Downfall 163,413 NEW
10 Pooh's heffalump movie 136,473 -28
11 Melinda and melinda 93,935 -27
12 Maria full of grace 66,674 -21
13 Meet the fockers 51,599 -51
14 The Chorus 51,032 -36
15 Mickybo and me 49,475 +3

The Ring 2 was slightly underestimated, nice to see it go over £2million. Some great drops in the top 15, the kids movies held well, but most surprising is Hostage, fantastic drop of only 4% in week 4. Also nice to see the limited releases making the top 15, The Chorus, Mickybo and Me, Melinda and Melinda, Maria full of Grace & Downfall all had a screen count less than 65, compared to The Rings 2's 419. Downfall managed the 4th best screen average of the weekend, followed in 5th by Maria Full of Grace showing on only 24 screens.

Pheeew. Glad THE RING TWO topped £2,000,000. I predicted £2.2M on the site. so i wasn't too far off.

I think easter holidays are going to help THE RING TWO and give it a drop below 60%. Maybe 50%.

Nice opening, Surprisingly GREAT word of mouth over here.

I seen it yesterday, and i really enjoyed it :)

Some new BBFC ratings announced:

Cursed "15" :Contains strong horror

Because Of Winne Dixie "U": Contains infrequent, mild bad language

Guess Who "12A" : Contains moderate sex references and mild racial jokes

Sin City "18": Contains strong bloody violence

Glad to hear SIN CITY got the 18 rating! It shouldn't affect the BO gross, as both KILLBILLS were 18. It will just make the movie cooler! :)

Coming this week soon should be

THE AMITYVILLE HORROR

Im PRAYING for an 18.

THE AMITYVILLE HORROR is just a "15" Over in the UK.

:(

Other recent "15" rated horror movies:

Cursed
White Noise
Hide and Seek
Boogeyman
The Ring Two

So. Amityville's so called "HARD R RATING" is more like these pg13 films.

Than say FREDDY VS JASON'S, SAW's and TEXAS CHAINSAW's "R" ratings.

Ah well......We'll see on Friday.

That just sucks so much! i had great hopes for Amityville, and they just went down quite a lot. I'll still see it opening weekend, i'm just disappointed by this. At least we still have Sin City....

'Sahara' Reigns in U.K.; 'Pacifier' Tops in Oz
Sunday April 10 11:29 PM ET

"Sahara" burned up screens in the United Kingdom, "The Pacifier" swiped the top spot in Australia, "The Ring Two" distracted Italians from the pope's funeral, and "The Interpreter" translated well in its first international territory, Greece, according to weekend estimates.

"Sahara" opened day and date with the U.S. in Britain, taking the No. 1 spot there in the face of significant distractions including Prince Charles' marriage to Camilla Parker Bowles and the funeral of Pope John Paul II, taking approximately $2.6 million (including $448,000 in previews) from 400 cinemas. This beat "The Ring Two" in its second week, which dropped a huge 47% to a little more than $2 million from 422 cinemas.

"Hitch" made a weekend total of $7.6 million on 3,880 screens in 56 markets, hoisting the cume to $160.6 million.

The romantic comedy starring Will Smith opened at No. 1 in Thailand with an excellent $420,000 on 52 screens.

The film's ongoing power is evident in the cumes in holdover territories after six weeks: $31.5 million in Germany (off 19%), $29.9 million in the United Kingdom (off 24%), $10.5 million in Australia (off 39%) and $8.6 million in Spain (off 37%).

Reuters/Hollywood Reporter

from http://movies.yahoo.com/mv/news/va/20050410/111320097100.html

So Saraha takes about £1.41million, and the Ring 2 dropped 47% (which i would hardly call huge as in the report above - i would say thats quite a good drop for the genre with bad WOM) to £1.1million.

Pretty much as expected really.

2005 Horror 2nd Weekend Drops:

White Noise dropped -23%
Hide and Seek -58%
Boogeyman -52%
The Ring Two -47%

So the only horror that beat RING 2's drop was White Noise.

The Ring Two has now grossed around $6,000,000 in the Uk.

Nice.

After a very poor opening of $2million, Valiant is doing great. It almost hit a 6 multiplier after 3 weeks. Drops of 17% and 2% this past weekend. It total right now stands near $12million. I think it could get upto $18-21m.

Yeah Valiant is doing well, which is weird, because i'v heard nothing other than "it's shite" Basically.

Ring Two falls less than BOOGEYMAN and HIDE AND SEEK.

Under 50% (not including previews), nice.

AMITYVILLE will be number 1 next week :)
