Post Re: The UK Box Office Thread
1. King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, £2,501,993 from 564 sites (new)

Solid opening at number one for King Arthur, but this will obviously be very short lived because the market is very, very crowded at the moment with Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar's Revenge (May 25) likely to take the top spot next weekend. Baywatch may also challenge the film, that is set for release on bank holiday Monday. Although there are signs that this will drop rapidly one being that without previews (£578K) this film would have been number three.

2. Alien: Covenant, £2,127,347 from 631 sites. Total: £10,003,742 (two weeks)

Ridley Scott's Alien: Covenant passed £10M ($13M) after two weeks, the film will not catch Promethous' total, but the film is doing well enough to be considered a success.

3. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2, £1,942,687 from 599 sites. Total: £36,309,702 (four weeks)

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will most likely become the third biggest Marvel film overtaking Captain America: Civil War and Iron Man 3.

4. Snatched, £842,489 from 465 sites (new)

Snatched slightly under performs Jonathan Levine's Warm Bodies and also the stars 2015 comedy Trainwrecked, neither got past £1M though.

5. The Boss Baby, £414,954 from 527 sites. Total: £26,819,979 (seven weeks)

The Boss Baby gets closer to £30M and has a good shot at passing the milestone giving that the film can keep its legs when summer starts kicking into full swing next weekend with Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar's Revenge on Thursday

6. A Dog’s Purpose, £263,233 from 432 sites. Total: £2,464,023 (three weeks)

A good 47% drop for A Dog's Purpose pushes it closer to a 2x mulitplier from its £1.3M opening weekend.

7. Fast & Furious 8, £230,868 from 346 sites. Total: £29,385,156 (six weeks)

Fast & Furious 8 pulls ever closer to £30M, this will most likely take a few more weeks for the film to accomplish.

8. Beauty and the Beast, £158,496 from 373 sites. Total: £71,878,441 (10 weeks)

Beauty and the Beast continues to do well even ten weeks after its release.

9. Colossal, £150,642 from 145 sites (new)

Colossal performs very mildly with a bad per theater average. The indie option this weekend was a weak performer.

10. Half Girlfriend, £115,183 from 67 sites (new)

New Indian film enters the top 10 performing solidly.

In other news, Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul pulls in £774,587 in previews which will be added to next weeks total opening weekend

Early estimates put Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar's Revenge at £4.8M ($6.2M) that is abysmal

There were some major storms in the south east of England, but that was late Sunday/early Monday and probably would have had minimal effect on the box office.

Post Re: The UK Box Office Thread
Sorry for the late update.

1. Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar's Revenge £5,238,049 opening weekend

This opening is abysmal for the Pirates franchise which peaked at £13.74M.

2. Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul £1,444,092 opening weekend.

After hefty £786K previews this film gets a second place debut.

3. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 £885,675, total: £37,819,438 (five weeks)

The Guardians look to cross £40M a big improvement over the originals £28.5M

4. Alien: Covenant £725,145, total £11,629,455 (three weeks)

This film may reach £15M but would need legs unlike the ones it has domestically.

5. King Arthur: Legend of the Sword £593,777, total: £3,814,733 (two weeks)

Other Openers in the top ten

The Red Turtle £91,997

Good to see A Monster Calls and Silence on the chart. Two undeserved underperformers in the US.

I do have to note that those are 8-day openings (SMTWTFSS) as they opened on New Year's Day along with Assassin's Creed. Baywatch is doing the same thing, it opened on May 29th.

That's done now. While I am here, Wonder Woman had an estimated Thursday of £1,200,000

http://deadline.com/2017/06/wonder-woma ... 202105707/

Rth on BOT is saying Wonder Woman is looking at £4.8M for the 3-day and £6M for TFSS.

Just £4.8m? That puts it at the 15th highest opener so far this year. How...lame. More proof that it is ONLY America that has a boner for this shite.

Post UK Box Office 9-11 June 2017
Box Office Figures for 9-11 June 2017

1. Wonder Woman £3,480,956 (2nd week) total: £12,841,001

After a bit of a disappointing first frame, the second falls only 31% excluding previews which says a good thing about its upcoming legs with the next major competition being on Thursday 22nd June with the release of the fifth Transformers film. The film will likely pass the £20M mark, but may find difficulty grabbing much more then that.

2. The Mummy £3,343,650 (OPENING)

The first Dark Universe film feels a bit underwhelming to be honest, the film could have been a bit bigger had reviews not tore it open (currently at 17% on RT), although it has had success in many countries pulling in $174 million in its global opening it fails to hit big in the UK and could drop off rather fast.

3. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales £1,487,705 (3rd week) £16,007,456

The Pirates have plundered well over £15M but have failed miserably to reach the height in the UK box office that the previous four have done which leads to a very disappointing run. Add to this the fact critics have ripped this entry in the franchise apart, the future doesn't look bright for the future of this series in the UK.

4. Baywatch £1,139,773 (2nd week) total: £6,983,836

Dwayne Johnson may be a super star but he most likely won't be able to pull £10M from a reboot of a TV show that seemed very niche.

5. EVENT CINEMA: Take That: Wonderland Live From The O2 £1,004,918 (ONE-OFF)

A great performance for the one-off show which placed it in a solid top 5 spot.

Other Openers

6. My Cousin Rachel £637,704

11. EVENT CINEMA: Peter Pan - NT Live 2017 £119,127

15. The Shack £96,580

Do you keep a total gross yearly list?

Would be good to see how certain films climb through the ranks.

UK Box Office 16-18 June 2017

1. Wonder Woman £1,868,607 (-46.43%, week 3) Total: £16,297,127

This is a good 3-week total for Wonder Woman which will reach £20M within the next few weeks.

2. The Mummy £1,175,952 (-64.95%, week 2) Total £6,110,127

This film will likely struggle to get much past £10M if that.

3. Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar's Revenge £737,391 (-50.67%, week 4) Total: £17,389,506

This is by far the worst performing Pirates movie in the UK to date.

4. Baywatch £514,301 (-55.03%, week 3) Total: £8,073,582

It is very debatable whether this film will reach even £10M now.

5. Churchill £392,732 (DEBUT)

Other Openers

6. Gifted £305,323

10. Whitney "Can I Be Me" £93,867

13. Super Singh £54,595

15. Cardboard Gangsters £49,276

There is no change to OW chart. As for a Yearly chart I will see where I can get accurate numbers :)

Post Re: The UK Box Office Thread
23-25 June 2017

1. Transformers: The Last Knight £4,635,570 (opening week)

This isn't the opening they were looking for at all. This is bad for the series in the UK.

2. Wonder Woman £1,575,673 (4th week, -15.68%) Total: £18,836,596

Wonder Woman has a great drop in its forth week, this is promising for late legs. The film should pass £20M next week.

3. The Mummy £761,554 (3rd week, -35.26%) Total: £7,554,607

This film is still doing really badly, don't let the drop fool you. The film had the biggest drop in the top 10 and should drop a lot harder next weekend.

4. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales £684,806 (5th week, -7.46%) Total: £18,463,353

This is a good drop for the weekend, the film should pass £20M in the next few weeks.

5. Baywatch £455,159 (4th week, -11.5%) Total: £8,852,634

£10M is looking a lot more promising for this film.

Openers

6. Hampstead £453,533 (Debut)

This is a meh opener, it will likely drop hard tomorrow.

7. Tubelight £299,811 (Debut)

This is a good foreign opening for the Indian film.

16. The Book of Henry £72,128 (Debut)

The film opened with a site average of £601 which is really bad.

Next weekend

Baby Driver - opens on 28th June 2017

Despicable Me 3 - The latest film should be number 1 next weekend.

All Eyez on Me - Tupac's biopic may struggle in the UK

The House - This also may flop in the UK

How many days is that Transformers: The Last Knight opening? You said opening week but in the list it has no mention of days.

Post Re: The UK Box Office Thread
1. Despicable Me 3 £11,154,904 (OPENING) 608 sites

Universal's Minion Machine pulled off the 4th biggest opening of the year behind Beauty and the Beast's £19.7m and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2's £13.09m. Although, this films debut is a little below Minions' £11.59m back in June 2015 which was a record for animation in the UK. Back in June 2013 Despicable Me 2 pulled in £9.95m but the films previews pushed it to £14.82m. And the original film in October 2010 pulled in £3.66m. This is a great opening for the film and it should be another £30+m film.

2. Baby Driver £3,605,705 (WTFSS) (OPENING) 543 sites

Sony's Baby Driver opened a bit more than The World's End's £2.12m back in July 2013. The film pushed to £2.39m without previews. The opening is great for Baby Driver and reviews should push it to a great multiplier

3. Transformers: The Last Knight £1,601,971 (2nd week) £7,942,613

This film is flopping in the UK, the numbers are a lot lower than anything in the franchise.

4. All Eyez on Me £912,662 (OPENING) 270 sites

Lionsgate's Tupac Biopic posted a good opening for the rappers biopic.

5. Wonder Woman £911,311 (5th week) £20,731,916

The film is doing extremely well and should get near a 4x multiplier near the end of its run.

Other Openings

6. The House £487,542 (debut)

Flop written all over it, thats all I have to say about it.

Alone in Berlin £108,047 (£54,003 of gross in previews)

In this Corner of the World £35,061 (£27,912 in previews)

Kedi £32,964 (£6,614 in previews)

American Hero £20 (I put this in because its the lowest opening since Man Down did £7)
