They would've probably increased today anyway since it's Tuesday, and with oscar nominations, they will increase even more. Here are the Tuesday increases for best picture nominees last year:
ROTK 3.8%
Mystic River 24.5%
Master and Commander 45.9%
From 2003:
Chicago 33.5%
The Hours 40.9%
TTT 16.2%
The Pianist 49%
(I couldn't find daily numbers for Lost in Translation and Gangs of New York)
I expect The Aviator, Million Dollar Baby, Sideways and Finding Neverland to all get 30-50% increases. None of them are blockbusters like LOTR trilogy.
