Post subject:  1st Quater of 2005. The Horror Quater.
With WHITE NOISE already surprising and turning out a huge opening weekend $24.1M ($10,600PTA). It has set a bench mark for the horror movies until May.

First off, we have on JANUARY 28TH, Robert DeNiro and Dakota Fanning's HIDE AND SEEK, which is set to bow on 2,500+ screens according to BOM. And is the widest new release that week.
On the same week, we also have a horror offering from Mr Uwe Boll, ALONE IN THE DARK starring Christian Slater, Tara Reid and Stephen Dorff.

I think HIDE AND SEEK will take the position of highest new entry with around $15,000,000. While ALONE IN THE DARK will open to around $5,000,000.

Next up is FEBUARY 4TH when BOOGEYMAN hits theatres. From the makers of THE GRUDGE, producer SAM RAIMI, this Ghost House picture looks set to build up an opening of around $17,000,000.

FEBUARY 18TH see's the release of CONSTANTINE, the new dark thriller from KEANU REEVES. I see an opening weekend over $22,000,000.

In MARCH 18TH we see the release of new horror sequel to one of the biggest horror hits ever, THE RING TWO. Predictions are reaching $200,000,000. But i think the movie will oepn to around $50,000,000.

In APRIL 15TH, THE AMITYVILLE HORROR opens, from the same makers of THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE 2003, which grossed over $80,000,000 in america in 2003. AMITYVILLE has great marketing and should open over $20,000,000.

APRIL 29TH, HOUSE OF WAX enters cinemas all accross america. Facing massive compeititon from THE RING TWO and AMITVYILLE HORROR, HOUSE will probably open to $12,000,000.



So there we have it.

Alone in the Dark: Opening -- $5.5 million, $11 milllion total
Boogeyman: Opening -- $14 million, $32 million total
Cursed: Opening -- $9 million, $22 million total
Constantine: Opening -- $22 million, $60 million total
The Ring Two: Opening -- $47 million, $150 million total
The Amittyville Horror: Opening -- $32 million, $110 million total
