Maybe the decreases had to do with the fact that the New Year's Eve 1999 was a more "important" one because of the beginning of a new millenium. Maybe more people were partying or busy with something else? :? I don't kno, there must be an explanation for these numbers. I am looking forward to BOM numbers, maybe they'll be different. |

Looking at the cumulative totals, what do you think? Discuss. 1. Meet the Fockers - $133,200,000 - Incredible 2. A Series of Unfortunate Events - $84,400,000 - what were people expecting. 3. The Aviator - $25,100,000 - not sure - is this still limited. 4. Fat Albert - $27,000,000 - go Fat Albert - better than some thought? 5. Ocean's Twelve - $100,700,000 - forget its start date - disappointing at all, what did the first one get, even though sequals usually don't do better. 6. National Treasure - $150,500,000 - keeps moving along 7. The Polar Express - $151,700,000 - keeps moving along. 8. Spanglish - $26,600,000 - how is this for Sandler? 9. The Phantom of the Opera - $12,700,000 - Whatever to the haters, I knew this wouldn't do close to Chicago numbers or even 100 million. 10. The Incredibles - $249,000,000 - Is coming short of 300 disappointing, maybe just alittle. |

As I said before, according to Variety, Warner Bros paid $19 million to acquire North America distribution rights. If this movie can gross $38+ million in US, it is good. |

That's just plain awesome. No significant drops. Though I have doubts that the increase will be big today, it's still some nice numbers. Meet the Fockers might pass the original one this weekend! ![]() Friday: $12,100,000 Saturday: $22,200,000 (+85%) Sunday: $14,430,000 (-35%) Weekend: $48,730,000 Total Gross: $169,830,000 That increase might be too much, though, since it did not have a big decrease on Friday. BJ wrote: thease numbers are amazing ![]() ![]() Yes. Most movies will not have the huge increase percentage wise on Saturday. They will increase a little more than a normal Saturday for this time of the year. I think MTF will still get to around 20 mil. on Saturday 8) |

I dont know :? comeing into the wknd I thought for shure if the film fell 35%-40% on friday that a 200% increase on saturday would be close to a lock considering its a comedy and the only comedy in 1999 decreased 45% on friday and increased around 240%-260% on saturday. That would be Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo. I expect an increase today in the 140%-160% area for MTF 8) |

I was not going by the average i was going by what the majestic and Deuce Bigolo did because they were more comedy genre than the other films in the top ten. Thats how I came up with that massive 205% increase I gave the film on my wknd prediction which is obviously an under prediction now. I now say 145% increase today, that subtracts about 60% of my origonal 205% increase. More than i needed to subtact considering it only increased 6% yesterday but fare enough all the same. you based your prediction of around a 140%-160% saturday increase i based mine of a 200%+ saturday increase so the oucomes will be very differnet no matter what. |
