Not sure about moving Into the Blue into the heart of the summer. Zathura is trying to follow Elf and Polar Express, having a Thanksgiving release instead of Christmas. |

If March 30th is a Wednesday, my first question is... why? What exactly is the point of making Beauty Shop a 5-day release? |

The only one that somewhat interests me is Zathura... |

It might be because April 1st has two higher profile films, The Weatherman and Sin City both opening. That is most likely the case. Studio is trying to sqeeze a little extra out of it, even though it plays to a different demographic then The Weatherman or Sin City. I predict it will follow a similar pattern as Johnson Family Vacation with perhaps a higher total. |

Stay tuned... ![]() I dunno, Nicole Kidman's performance has actually been getting better critical love then I expected. She WAS nominated for a Golden Globe. I guess Fine Line would really love a Best Actress nomination, which is possible as this year's batch of contenders is a lot weaker then some of the past years. |

I don't think best actress buzz can carry it especially given that there is little interest from audiences to see it in the first place. GONY and M&C were hardly able to get a few million more with best picture noms, among many others. Much less awards buzz for a film with much less appeal = zero BO (or close to it). |

Can you guys tell me where you get release date change information from? Or do you just check over all of them to see if there are differences? |

Well, maybe I can catch Birth when it is re-released, as I missed it the first time around. I agree though, it is probably to capitalize on possible Oscar nods, although it likely won't bring in a great deal of additional money. Of course, a few million more is still a few million more then it has made thus far. |

Well this was unexpected. I guess it might help for a nomination but won't bring in more than maybe a million or two. |

Zathura is a semi-sequel to Jumanji directed by Favreau (Elf). It's target is kids and families. It's going to have a tough time against Goblet of Fire, Lion Witch & Wardrobe and King Kong... no matter where it moves. |
