I'm more confident in it being critically acclaimed but less confident than before of it being the 2nd biggest film of all time. With that said if it's really good that could be the key to being massive. Will need to see next trailer

Whatever record Incredibles 2 sets for animated opening weekend Frozen 2 will beat.
That’s how big it will be. 550m-600m

WOW! at that trailer :wub2:
This is definitely setting new animated OW record and the November record.

A little bewildered by the teaser/trailer but this gets to $400m simply on inertia. If they can tap into the zeitgeist of 4-10 yrs olds again with great songs, then the sky is the limit. The influence of the music cannot be understated. That was a major factor for its success. Wish Disney would leave the classics alone and let them be standalone but I totally get the economic arguments.

Yet another 2019 behemoth for Disney. It will make up for Aladdin's under performance.

Yeah it's not much more than we got with the teaser, this just has dialogue.

SOme cool visuals but the story is very secretive it seems. I think this will reveal how Elsa has powers.

$450-$470m. Prediction would have been higher if not for the weird year for sequels.

The ceiling on this one is weird, because the movie was SUCH a long-term hit in theaters (it's one of only three movies this century to spend 10+ weekends in the top 5!) that I'm really not sure it could find any more audience to mine beyond the $400 million worth that came the first time around. Really, anything above the first movie should be considered a massive success.

Panic's version of Into the Unknown is pretty good. Sounds like the movie version may be a hit.

Tickets are on sale today.

So what would be a disappointing opening for this? I'm gonna say less than 125m. I think even if it opens kinda low Thanksgiving week should be big.

Yeah, I could see a Catching Fire scenario where people are disappointed by the opening, only for the movie to "recover" over the Thanksgiving holiday.

The opening weekend doesn't matter. $450+ mil is the goal. Preferably $500 mil.

I'd be disappointed by less than $150M. I know only one animated movie has crossed the mark, but I'd counter by saying this has been the most demanded animated movie ever.

The market is dead, the hype is real. $400M in 10 days should be the goal.

This has one of the most ideal market conditions for a major film I've ever seen. There is literally no competition for it and family audiences haven't had anything for over a month. Whatever it makes, it's going to maximize its potential.

My initial prediction is 164/610.

Post subject:  Re: Frozen 2 predictions

There is a good 5 months of pent up demand for a major animated film (same conditions as TI2) so this will explode OW and have a mammoth Thanksgiving also.

It has so many trailer views. Not even the same league as Toy Story 4. I’m pretty sure only Endgame had more this year. I think it will be close to 200m OW.

Post subject:  Re: Frozen 2 predictions

I think it will challenge TIC2 OW.
I see it making a olay for 200m OW and end up top 3 for the year

Reviews are good but not as good as the first. Expecting harsh drops post Thanksgiving but should have a big opening, followed by a soft drop over the holiday.

There is really no excuse for this to not blow up anymore. The market is completely dead right now and this definitely fits the bill as THE EVENT film before TROS drops. I have no idea how it's going to play over the extended holiday weekend, but it should easily pass $200M at this point right?
