All 3 of the preview showings at my theater are sold out. Avengers had like 10 at this point though.

Re: Star Wars - Episode IX predictions (12/20/2019)
I think it looks good, the spoilers I heard sound good, I think there is general public excitement.
I also think the lack of any of the OT characters being front and center in the marketing is limiting the noticeable hype online. It's resting solely on the new characters of the this trilogy of which only Kylo and Rey are even remotely exciting.

Yeah, a shot of Lando giggling and dead Carrie fisher posing is not as fun as Han and Chewie entering the Falcon saying "We're home"

They should have just brought Luke back. His voice over is in all the trailers and his name is in the fucking title. Just bring him back physically, nobody would be upset.
One of the many mistakes they have made this set of films...

I think the Mandalorian will end up hurting the gross for this. A Star Wars film just feels less special than in 2005 with 5 movies and a TV series since 2015

I think Manalorian will help, actually. It has brought back the "fans" that said they ditched the franchise. (well, most of them)

I am truly surprised at how unpositive many of the reactions are. They're not bad but so many takes that are less than stellar. Wow.

Re: Star Wars - Episode IX predictions (12/20/2019)
Probably will end up with middling reviews but with so many of reviews being SW loonies, i dont see it being rotten. But worst reviewed of the trilogy for sure. May be bit of a payback for SW8.
I wish JJ had directed the complete trilogy but he could have never made movies in 2 year interval.

Intrigued tbh.
I bet the movie will be received fine but I only know one spoiler so who knows how the fandom will react to what happens.

Re: Star Wars - Episode IX predictions (12/20/2019)
I am tracking AMC and they have added almost 2800 more shows for previews. overall showcount just in reserved theaters is 8542 shows at AMC. its definitely hitting 50m previewsSorry guys. Got excited and made a mistake. Should never update late in the night Actual show count at reserved theaters in AMC is 5837. Still that is way higher than all other movies I have tracked from Joker onwards.

I definitely see this getting worse reviews than TLJ, but honestly who really cares at this point? It at least sounds like it should be a more crowd pleasing movie in the vein of TFA, and that will only help its BO and legs going further into the holidays.

Very keen to see how the weekend goes. If this does 200m+ and audiences dig it it should beat TLJ.

Majority say its a satisfying and a fitting end. The most negative stuff is coming from people who think it’s too much fan service and not enough like TLJ, which comedically would be a great thing. There are a TON of "mixed feelings" being thrown around. Lots of "the conclusions feel rushed and unearned. Of course they do- this is not 1982 where people do not expect much for development. This needed one more movie. OK bring on the TENET trailer please

I'm sure it will be good. Fans that love TLJ will be more forgiving because we have brains and can think critically. Sounds like most of the other fans will love it.

Saw some tweets saying this really undoes a lot of what TLJ tried to do so... should be interesting.
