Re: Production Budgets
That's a bit steep for PR. Reasonable for Life and Chips.

Power Rangers will need to do well overseas. I think it seems like something overseas audiences would like.

Re: Production Budgets
Power Rangers seems about right, but if it fails to open over $40M it will definitely need some help from OS. Life and Chips are a bit on the high side IMO.

Re: Production Budgets
Life is going to BOMB. It has decent reviews but it looks and feels low-key, like it might come and go unnoticed.

Re: Production Budgets
Power Rangers might make decent money if it does well in OS markets. Fine for the other two.

OS markets can accommodate more than one movie at a time.

Re: Production Budgets
Maybe a little less than I expected. At least it's not $170m like Sander's Snow White.

Re: Production Budgets
Hmm. $110m. So it won't totally bomb, but it will still bomb.

Re: Production Budgets
$125m is slightly lower than the standard $150m for animation movies these days. Some scenes in TBB are just wonderfully done so good to see DWA trying hard to control budgets.

Re: Production Budgets
Major budget cuts for Smurfs from the past two movies. I wonder why having humans cost them so much.
GIS looked cheaper like a micro-budgeted movie of under $10m to me but it should still make enough money.

Michael Caine ain't cheap. But GCI characters surprisingly are.

Re: Production Budgets
Going in Style never seemed "micro-budget" to me. Three veteran stars. A classic example of a mid-tier movie by a big studio. Its budget is honestly reasonable; it would have cost a lot more 10, 15 years ago. Consider Analyze This' 80-million price tag.

Re: Production Budgets
Yes but I can't see these veteran's demanding big checks its not like they are draws. Its definitely not a bad budget wise but I was somehow thinking this will be max $10m movie which would make profits from the OW itself. I have not idea how Analyze This cost that much honestly.

Re: Production Budgets
Last Vegas cost $28m to make. Stand Up Guys cost a smaller $15m. $24m for Going in Style looks standard budget for a generic geriatric buddy movie.

Colossal cost just under 15 million. Kind of surprised it cost that much.

Re: Production Budgets
If they screw their heads on and give it a proper release, it can easily make $80m in the US.

$250m F&F8 Not surprising considering the budget of the last one was 190, but these movies are getting crazy expensive. Thank god for OS though, especially China because if it wasn't for them I don't believe this movie would be nearly as successful considering it will have a significant drop off domestically from Furious 7.
