That is insanely impressive. Between this and his work on other franchises (horror films and the Fast and Furious series), James Wan is establishing himself as one of the biggest and most reliable directors working today.

Re: Aquaman>BvS WW club With JL, it's that it under-performed big time. With WW, it's that "woman" was in the title, and that doesn't travel from country to country as well as "man". But sure, Aquaman is doing well on its own reaching $1 billion.

In Ancient Rome, people flocked by the tens of thousands to the coliseum to watch strong young men fight to the death. Now they flock to movie theatres to watch essentially the same thing, with some added CGI. The instinct is the same. Hollywood has just figured out how to monetize it to the max.
