This is so shit, this breaks Pixar's wonderful short fiilms record, I want an original one in front of Coco :(

However, this looks like Inside Out quality, 250m+

Is that Olaf short really 21 minutes long? How big would this movie be then?

I have no interest in Coco but with the short being a sizable 21 minutes long I'd go see it on discount Tuesday just for this and then probably not stay for Coco. Good thinking Disney because Coco needs the help.

I'd do the same. Coco looks shite.

He means length.

I would guess at least 2 hours between the film and the special.

Yeah I thought that sentence was clear for the length of the movie after the "short". I wonder how would be the reaction for 21 minute "short", I understand most people would like it but it also limits the appeal of second view of the movie, if you don't like the "short"

I don't want to see a 20 minute short of anything before a movie. Does this movie even need it? If anything, Cars 3 would be the one who could have really benefited.

^ Exactly my sentiment. I don't mind 5-7 minutes short before a movie but 21 minutes seems too excessive.

This film probably needs it more than Cars 3. No built in fan base, and it looks shit ... hence wanting to provide more value to patrons for their buck.

Yeah Coco needs it more than Cars 3 did. A good move on Disney's part. There probably should have been a Frozen sequel out by now so this may satiate some of the fans.

I don't think the Frozen short helped too much last time and I personally feel that a 21 minute short is bit too much so could see some of the people being turned off because of that.

I'm one of them. I love Frozen but don't want to see a sitcom-length "short" before the feature film. At least I can show up to Coco (if I see it at all) 10-15 minutes late if I wanted.

Plus I don't know would you call a 21 minute feature a "short" that's almost the time for a 30 minute television episode. Not sure what Disney is planning here with Olaf. Are they trying to gauge the interest in making a movie or a TV spin-off?

Perhaps Coco will have a running time of 64 minutes, just like Dumbo.

A short film is anything below 30 minutes.

I mean I know all that but I don't remember seeing one before a movie. Has this been done before? I have never been to a movie with this big of a short preceding it.

What was the main point? because first you were talking about how 21 minutes seems long for a short film, then questioned if that could be considered a short film (to which I replied to), but now you're going on about whether it's been done before. Sorry, but you don't get to control which part of your post(s) I reply to.

There is no official consensus or definition for the length of a “short.”

Any film shorter than 50 minutes qualifies as a short film for the Sundance Film Festival, while any film with a run-time under 40 minutes is eligible for the shorts categories at the Academy Awards.

The longest of the ten movies nominated for either best live-action or best animated short at the 83rd Academy Awards is The Gruffalo, at 27 minutes.

Reviews are much better than The Good Dinosaur thank goodness. Though they are behind Moana, on par with Finding Dory and A Bug's Life, and a bit ahead of Brave and the first Cars.

93% through 14 reviews with a 7.9/10 avg. It looks like it will settle in the mid 80's. and have an average rating around 7.5.

Coco is gonna end up with like $201m. Even if Disney needs to grease the skids with Puerto Rico boxoffice grosses added to the domestic tally it will try earnestly to get to $200m.
