IO2 surprised everyone with the biggest* opening of the year (admissions) despite the Euro Cup starting AND taking place in Germany...

*also the fifth biggest since Covid...

IO2 still No. 1 in 4th week and reaches 3m admissions (official blockbuster mark), will pass DUNE 2 today to become biggest movie of the year (admissions). At the same time DM4 had huge previews on Sunday...

I expanded the all-time b.o. list from €40m+ to Top 100 - There are still three movies from the 1960s lurking in there!

Developed markets are so boring. We have not seen any real breakouts in eons. Developing markets are seeing new admission records and that is more interesting to track. even in gross Mex/Bra are bigger than Germany for most movies at this point.

Right now it looks like MOANA 2 might deliver only the third 1m admissions opener since the pandemic - the other ones being 007 and AVATAR 2...

@Mark. How is Mufasa going to do in Germany. Lion King opened > 1m admits right?

First one opened to 0.92m 4 day / 1.13m 5 day on its way to 5.66m admissions

I expect something between 2.5m and 3.5m

BTW, the 94 original is at 11.9m admissions

WOW. 94 movie was a monster. SO OW should be around 500K this week.
