The Village only made as much as it did because it was frontloaded. Extremely frontloaded. People didn't know they were being tricked into a borefest until they actually saw it, and the bad WOM began to spread. It could have made $150+ million if it was actually good. As for White Noise, I'm predicting a 40% drop. I've always used the talk around my school as a basis for predictions (mostly for horror movies), and I can honestly saw that this movie has good WOM. So many people I know went and saw it this weekend, and everyone said the exact same thing...

"It's a really good movie with a weird ending.."

I know a lot of people who are also going this weekend. And with MLK this weekend, it's definently got the advantage. I don't see a drop over 45% this weekend, honestly. This is a great hit. I've also revised my grade for the movie after more consideration, and after beginning to understand what happened (though I still have questions that are unanswered).

Yeah, this movie really is good enough for repeat viewings and it does help after a few explanations on some of the questions in it to warrant seeing it again.. I say less than 50% drop this coming up weekend for WHITE NOISE since most movies drop 50-60% anyway and that would be good.... I think WHITE NOISE is gonna have some good legs and if it does end up being like that, I'm gonna my ass off in watching people complain about it and boldly claim that moviegoers are stupid for pumping more $$$ into it instead of some Indie, Artsy Fartsy movie like Million Dollar Baby... I can't believe that Elektra could possibly take #1 this weekend.. I wish I could get excited about this movie but when I see the previews, I think of Daredevil and lose interest..

If White Noise expands into 2,500 theaters, that would be great. [-o<

It should and deserves to... It's hands down 1 of the BEST of 2005 so far that's for certain and a crime if they don't expand it.. Well, I'm off to Bed and will discusss this great movie more in detail tonight when I return.. \:D/

Projected wise, I'd say it's 1 of the best films of 2005 til April comes when The Amityville Horror remake comes out and takes over..
