Yeah, this is pretty big. They need more time and probably need the Christmas boost.

The dilemma now is that May is pretty empty outside of Grogu.

December is already oversaturated with family fair - Shrek 5, Ice Age 6, Jumanji 3 and Dune Messiah. The schedule was never going to remain like that but will be interesting to see what moves and what stays.

Dune needs to get out of December. The rest of those films can get steamrolled but I'll be damned if studio ego makes them stay put and then it gets hurt badly and we don't get a Children of Dune adaptation. I need Dune Messiah to make a shit ton of money because a huge paycheck is the only Denis will be convinced to make a fourth (ideally a two-part fourth and fifth) film, and that only happens if Messiah smashes hard.

Dune needs to move. Perhaps to Feb 2027.

Either Shrek 5 or Spider verse should claim the summer opening May 2027 spot vacated by Secret Wars.

Ice Age needs to move to an off-peak period.

Jumanji can stay.

Yeah the timeline always felt too short to me, this movie is going to take forever to make.
