I think it would have done better if Mel hadn't succumbed to such a tasteless pun in the title - it is exactly the opposite of what is needed to attract the desired audience of gorephobic christians...

(That being said, I still have hope that it will take down the exorable ROTK and maybe the even worse Spider Man 1 to get to #6 on the all-time domestic list - I also agree with Dr. Lecter's perhaps tongue in cheek comment that it will outgross Star Wars in 20 years, except it could be a lot sooner than that if they mobilize the evangelicals as well as they did in the election last November (rev up them parish bus engines!) - I don't think an annual Easter release is out of the question - if so, then perhaps even Titanic isn't even safe...)
