I love the album that has Nemo on it, but never got into much other Nightwish. Maybe I should give the older-older stuff another chance.

With Nightwish, the further you go back, the more operatic the vocals. I've heard some say they prefer older Nightwish (1996-2007) for this reason, and others say they prefer more recent Nightwish (2008-) with the rock/power vocals. Nightwish fans debate this all the time, but their sound has remained constant and what makes the band.
I think Once was the perfect mix of both and thats why it connected with me. I'd like the new stuff more if they didn't change singers.

Is passion by Ayumi or is that someone else?

I'm calling Lacrymosa for #1

Passion is by Utada Hikaru.

Ayumi's most popular song outside of Japan (and Asia) is probably Evolution is you wanted to look it up.

I used to really like Lacrymosa, still do, but it just lacks the oomph for me now. The teaser trailer for Evanescene's The Open Door featured Lacrymosa, and if you listen to it, it sounded differently compared to the album version -- I really wish it hadn't changed.

Sorry for the delay by the way, I had some errands to run earlier. #1 will be posted in a few minutes.

#01. "Ghost Love Score" by Nightwish

Lyrics:

We used to swim the same moonlight waters
Oceans away from the wakeful day

My fall will be for you
My fall will be for you - My love will be in you - If you be the one to cut me I will bleed forever
Scent of the sea before the waking of the world
Brings me to thee
Into the blue memory

My fall will be for you - My fall will be for you My love will be in you If you be the one to cut me I will bleed forever
Into the blue memory

A siren from the deep came to me
Sang my name my longing
Still I write my songs about that dream of mine
Worth everything I may ever be

The Child will be born again
That siren carried him to me
First of them true loves
Singing on the shoulders of an angel
Without care for love ‘n loss

Bring me home or leave me be
My love in the dark heart of the night
I have lost the path before me
The one behind will lead me

Take me
Cure me
Kill me
Bring me home
Every way
Every day
Just another loop in the hangman’s noose

Take me, cure me, kill me, bring me home
Every way, every day
I keep on watching us sleep

Relive the old sin of Adam and Eve
Of you and me
Forgive the adoring beast

Redeem me into childhood
Show me myself without the shell
Like the advent of May
I’ll be there when you say
Time to never hold our love

My fall will be for you
My fall will be for you - My love will be in you
You were the one to cut me so I’ll bleed forever

It's probably little surprise to anyone following my list now that Nightwish appears once again, and at #1.

"Ghost Love Score" was the easiest #1 that I could ever pick for any sort of list. Toumas Holopainen has written and composed one "epic" for every Nightwish album, and his unrivaled musical ability within the symphonic metal genre has no better demonstration than in this song.

The song was first sung by Nightwish's first lead singer Tarja Turunen, and while that version would also easily be my #1 choice, it was Floor Jansen's vocal performance of the song since 2013, beginning during the Showtime, Storytime Tour, that somehow bested even the original. Before joining Nightwish, Jansen named Ghost Love Score as her favorite song, and she displays her passion for the song every time she sings it live now.

The Greatest Show on Earth - Decent but as you alluded to hard to listen to a 20 minute song for non fans

Paradise by the Dashboard Light - Great and on my list

Stairway to Heaven - Not a huge Zepp guy but I enjoy the guitar riff in this one

Phantom of the Opera - Solid but prefer the original

Somewhere over the Rainbow - Love Something over the Rainbow and Garland's version

O Mio Babbino Caro - nice classic opera song

Ever Dream - solid, I like the lead singer's voice a lot

Kiseki - like the piano part but otherwise seems ok pop song

Voyage - again hard to connect to it in a different language

Ghost Love Score - pretty good though Nightwish isn't really my thing
