I spent a total of about 3 hours on this list after it was all done. I will try to write about each song, but probably won't do every entry. I will also post 2 or 3 per day to give people time to digest and react.

With that said, here are the songs that missed the cut:

"Woman Woman" - AWOLNATION

"Changes" - Tesla

"Still Counting" - Volbeat

"Livin' on the Edge" - Aerosmith

"Fall to Pieces" - Velvet Revolver

Two or three per day?? Jesus. I don't know I can be invested in a list for more than two weeks. But anyway, I'll give those HMs a listen as soon as I can.

"Fall to Pieces" is one of the great rock power ballads.

CowboyFromHell is our resident hard-rock and metal super-fan. So I hope to see Sabbath, Dokken, Anthrax, Thin Lizzy...

It's time to begin.......

50. "Cough Syrup" - Young the Giant

I connected with this song immediately when I first heard it. The tempo is perfect, and the beat is catchy. Has a nostalgic vibe.

49. "Evil Woman" - Electric Light Orchestra

I was glad to see ELO finally get into the R&R Hall of Fame, very deserving. I've always felt this is their best song.

48. "Would?" - Alice in Chains

My favourite ELO is "Sweet Talkin' Woman". Loved it ever since I was a child.

And now I know where I heard that "Woman Woman" song before ... Cowboy posted it about two years ago lol.

Not as terrible a list as I thought it was going to be.

47. "Moaning Lisa Smile" - Wolf Alice

Another song with a nostalgic vibe. I love how grungey and raw this is.

46. "Leathers" - Deftones

I am pausing my list to let Shack and stuffp have the floor for their top 10. It will resume when they are finished.

45. "Plush" - Stone Temple Pilots

44. "Afterlife" - Avenged Sevenfold

43. "Witchy Woman" - The Eagles

One of the first bands I can recall listening to when I was a kid, and this was the first song I ever heard by them.

42. "Sundown" - Gordon Lightfoot

First heard this song when I was a kid, my dad listened to Gordon Lightfoot. It's easy to sing along to.

41. "Pink Houses" - John Mellencamp

Not a fan of "Would?" but "Evil Woman" is a good song, I kept hearing it as "Illegal Woman" though (chuckle).

47 is another good choice, and 46, I guess this is metal, that's still not my thing.
And 45 is alright, would not stand out for me, but good song.

Ooh, this is going to be the list where I know next to nothing. Out of the ones you've posted from the list so far the only one I know is The Eagles song, and the Aerosmith one out of the ones who just missed your list. Still, more interesting to see what the rest of it will be like.

40. "Otherside" - Red Hot Chili Peppers

39. "Couldn't Stand the Weather" - Stevie Ray Vaughan

I can't have a top 50 without SRV. This is his best, and my favorite.

38. "No More Mr. Nice Guy" - Alice Cooper

37. "The Spirit of Radio" - Rush

36. "Somewhere I Belong" - Linkin Park

This has always been my favorite LP song, really connected with it when I first heard it.

Somewhere I Belong is one of my favorite Linkin Parks as well

Never got into Rush or prog rock but Spirit of the Radio is good

I enjoy Pink Houses when it plays on the radio

I posted it because at that point he had 45 songs left to list. And I prefer the more popular Fatboy Slim version.

Ah, got it. I didn't know the Fatboy Slim version before, got to know the Cornershop version through Alias.
