19. "You Give Love a Bad Name" by Bon Jovi Only got to know this song of Bon Jovi at a later stage, but it has become my favorite of theirs. What makes the song special for me is that it reminds of a high school trip to Munich where I had a great time. |

18. "Love Lockdown" by Kanye West Kanye is the defining artist of my college time. I bought several of his albums and I love his music all around. Without a doubt he creates the best hip-hop music and "Love Lockdown" is a culmination of that. |

17. "Traveling Light" by Joel Hanson For some reason this song seemed popular in China at some point, I actually just heard in the supermarket again the other day. Anyway, it caught my ear some years ago and I instantly loved the melodic tones and the inspiring message of "traveling light". It does have some (heavy) Christian undertones as well, but that didn't influence my liking to it. |

Obviously "Sweet Dreams" is a fucking tune. It goes without saying. "You Give Love a Bad Name" ... no thanks. Hate Bon Jovi. Shit rock. I don't get why you would pick "Love Lockdown" as Kanye West's best when he has such a rich discography to choose much better songs from. Such a standard basic song. His next album may have come out after you left college, which makes sense - that's his best album. And "Traveling Light" ... this is a joke, right? You could not pick a more forgettable song. |

Haha, I seriously love Algren wrote: "Traveling Light" And "Love Lockdown", Kanye released 808s & Heartbreak right when I was in my first relationship, and through the break-up of that relationship as well, and this is the song well that I connected with most during that period. His first 5 albums are all just incredible anyway, the ones after that I've listened to less, despite "Watch the Throne" being the last album I actually bought, of anyone actually. |

16. "Radar Love" by Golden Earring Perhaps the oldest, and only "Dutch" song in my list. My parents had one of their albums when I was a kid, but only in my late teens did I get an interest in it. They have a great sound overall and Radar Love is just such a classic. It has a great little appearance in Baby Driver as well. |

15. "Born to Run" by Bruce Springsteen From it's melodic tune straight from the start, to Bruce's always committed performance this song is such a blast for me. Springsteen is a legend and and I could just never get tired of his songs and especially this one. |

14. "In The Air Tonight" by Phil Collins Also a favorite of Algren's this is another one of those can't miss 80's hits. It's one of the reasons I purchased the Miami Vice Season 1 box set, and it has just an unbelievable and effective sound to set the mood. Phil Collins' voice is superb as well. |

13. "Conquest of Paradise" by Vangelis I actually never saw "1492: Conquest of Paradise", but this was the song used at my "First Communion" which was probably the biggest party I had in my honor during my time as a kid. So that was a lot of fun, but later in my life this was also often played at funerals of close family members forming an even stronger connection with me. A beautiful song of emotion. |

Not heard "Radar Love" before, but it's nice. Good choice. "Born to Run" is another crappy Bruce Springsteen song. "In The Air Tonight"  "Conquest of Paradise" is not a song and should not be on this list. It is a composition for a film. It is nice, however. |

12. "Bat Out of Hell" by Meat Loaf Love Meat Loaf, "Paradise by the Dashboard Light" is a classic song I love too, but I've always preferred "Bat Out of Hell". My parents had Meat Loaf's second album which made me become a fan. I'd say I don't prefer long songs, but I can't get around this one, it has great staying power. |

10. "Don't Stop Believin' " by Journey It was The O.C. that introduced me to Journey, and this song has become one of my favorite songs from before my time. Steve Perry's solo work is great too. Love the opening, lyrics and sound. |
