27. "Porcelain" by Moby

My favorite Moby, of whom I'm a fan of anyway. Love how it's used in "The Beach" and this truly is a song of tranquil.

26. "I Don't Want to Wait" by Paula Cole

Dawson's Creek is one my favorite tv-series ever, which I watched during that defining time as a teenager. This being the opening song, it reminds me of how much I loved watching the show and my time in high-school.

Best picks so far re: "Porcelain" and "Eye of the Tiger". Top level music. Doesn't get better.

25. "It's My Life" by Bon Jovi

Bon Jovi make just such great tunes, this is not even my favorite of theirs. This was such a big song and often played song when I was in high school, good times.

24. "Hero" by Enrique Iglesias

Enrique has been great since "Bailamos" and "Escape" is one the best albums ever for me, one of the few I paid full price for at the time. The album is loaded with great songs and it's "Hero" which just gives me that tingling feeling most when I hear it.

"Hero" is a great song, as is "Escape". Great choice.

22. "Sailing" by Christopher Cross

And here's a live version also

It's a friend's of my dad who once mentioned Christopher Cross to me and I replied I never heard of him. Not soon after, I started researching his songs and loving his sound with "Sailing" being my favorite.

21. "They Don't Care About Us" by Michael Jackson

Right before we enter my top 20: Michael Jackson. This has always been my favorite song of his since I heard it, but his repertoire is so incredibly good, I love his entire discography.

"Sailing" doesn't seem bad, but I stopped it to listen to "Take My Breath Away", which is great and always will be. Special song.

Remix is way better, but sure that one is a good track too.

I guess it's not a bad list overall so far, but it is quite safe. It never really goes beyond the nucleus of a generalized stream mainstream pop hits.

I agree with that, it's what I have always listened to and still do mostly, although I've been listening to much less music since the last 9 years.

Mine would be the same. I was compiling a list of songs I love and there's not a single obscure one on there. I'm like, 90% pop slut, and if it's not typical pop it's songs from another genre that EVERYONE knows.

 and there's no limit to HM's!

After my 50, I'll probably add "some" and no idea where it'll stop.

So it's a Dutch thing. But then Tiesto and van Buuren are Dutch and they have great taste in music, so eh.

Tiesto's on my preliminary list (not sure if I'll post it, but the list is there) too... but again it's probably him at his most commercial.

Oh so you're doing a list as well? Cool. How many do you have locked in at the moment?

Locked in? Nothing's set in stone yet, I've just been going "Oh yeah!" and putting song names down in a spreadsheet. So far it's 62 songs so I'm going to have to trim it. >.>
