So I thought I would just go ahead and start this thread, even if I do not start the countdown yet. I have a few other things to get through before starting that. First, I have eight songs that while compiling my Top 50 I came across and would like to share. Then I have honourable mentions. You can see these as entries 51-60 if you wish, but I do not see them as that. Then I have my Top 50.

These are not honourable mentions (I do have those but these eight are not it), they are just good songs that I like and I want to share, and they may or may not reflect my taste and/or what's on the forthcoming list (actually, they don't much at all). They were, unfortunately, not good enough for my Top 50, but they are still good songs that I like very much either because of nostalgia or otherwise. Considering how many great songs have been made, they probably wouldn't even get into a Top 200, but here I am anyway recommending them.

My list will be absent any Rammstein songs because they are not on YouTube for some reason. Seems all I can find is instrumental versions or demos or live recordings, no album tracks.

Oh, and I stupidly forgot Coldplay, so when I get to my Top 50 that will now be a Top 52, so these HMs are effectively the 53-62 in my list as they all just got bumped.

There are also loads of bands that I would have loved to add a track of, but couldn't fit into the Top 50. And I could have filled a Top 250 with songs of just ten artists. It's insane really.

Nice list so far. "Swallowed in the Sea" is one I haven't heard in awhile. There are a lot of nice, slightly forgotten songs on X&Y.

The Darkness are always fun. I believe they have a new album coming out this year.

I had never heard the 2 Unlimited song before. Catchy.

Blocked tracks still show up in listings, then when you click on them they say they are not available in your country or whatever. The tracks I would have included in my list were not on YouTube.

Almost everyone I speak to about UB40 has never heard of "King". It is such an underrated song. People are always expecting me to follow it with "-ston Town", and while that is also a great track (as is "Cherry Oh Baby" and others), it was always "King" that did it for me.
