1. Thunder Road 2. The Promised Land 3. The River 4. Downbound Train 5. Atlantic City I feel confident about the top 3 as my favorite, but the last two spots could have gone to many HMs including The Wrestler, Born to Run, Jungleland, Badlands, Racing in the Street, Darkness on the Edge of Town, Gypsy Biker, Jackson Cage, 4th of July, Asbury Park (Sandy), The Ghost of Tom Joad, Worlds Apart, Lost in the Flood |

"The River" is my favourite. Absolutely fantastic song. Not really familiar with his other songs besides "Born in the USA", which is awful. |

I voted for Jungleland but have reconsidered and would prefer Rosalita. Also, "Outlaw Pete" should be up there.

Didn't know if I should create a new thread, but wanted to discuss how I've listened to Western Stars I'm sure about 15-20 times through by now. I love it. It's completely Bruce while feeling entirely new from anything he's done so far. When announced, I was expecting something similar to Devils & Dust, which is still a good album (he hasn't released a bad one yet to me), but it's easily becoming one of my favorites of his. I love all the classics as much as anyone else, but between this, Wrecking Ball and The Rising, I might prefer post-2000 Boss. I haven't seen Blinded by the Light yet, but I'm disappointed that the film sounds like it's good but nothing groundbreaking. I felt like anything that was based on his music should weave a narrative based around some of his songs into a movie. Not sure if it would work or not, but most of his songs feel like they're plucked right out of a story. |

"Streets of Philadelphia" is probably always going to be my favourite because of the emotions/memories attached to it, plus I'm a sucker for that 90s sound. It doesn't hurt that it's also a perfectly-written song. Rounding out the Top 5 is really hard but "The Promised Land", "Atlantic City", "Walk Like a Man", "The Rising", "I'm Goin' Down", "New York City Serenade", "Spirit in the Night" would all be contenders. |
