Re: Lady Gaga - ARTPOP
Magnus is right.
Gaga went from Adele/Britney-level popularity to sub-Katy Perry popularity (in the US) in no time. Yes, I know she still makes boatloads of money. So does, presumably, Il Divo.

Re: Lady Gaga - ARTPOP
Problem with Gaga is that she's full of herself and she scared away most non Little Monsters with the BTW album.
She went too weird too fast.

Three years ago, she was not just #1 but a CLEAR #1. Very fast fall.
And the hype and pre-release stuff isn't whats gonna matter. Born This Way had a lot of hype and the singles did chart fairly well. But they just disappeared after a few months. I'd agree with you in terms of favorability among the general public, though Gaga has a bigger WW fanbase than any of them. Taylor's US fanbase blows everyone else out of the water, but obviously the whole country veneer has limited her ability to break into foreign markets.

Yeah, she might have the second biggest fanbase (we all know who has the biggest, bitch). but she annihilated most of the general public with shit like Jo Calderone and the subpar music.

Re: Lady Gaga - ARTPOP
I think the first single will still be big like BTW, and if it's a radio hit then I think the album will have no problem with being big. She won't open with 1 million since she won't have the Amazon deal but I think 500k will happen, a # bigger than most of the pop girls can muster. I just wonder how they'll factor in sales of the app.
I'm actually a bit excited for the VMAs now (which were zzzzz last year) since she'll probably be performing.

Yes, HML is definitely the best song she's done to date.

Re: Lady Gaga - ARTPOP
It probably wouldn't have done well on radio but it should've been a single god damn it.
It seems that Zedd is the person who has produced the most on the album, who has actually been doing pretty well in the US.

Re: Lady Gaga - ARTPOP
Gaga's best songs imo are Poker Face, Paparazzi, Heavy Metal Lover and Bad Romance. Best video is Paparazzi.

Her worst single is either Telephone or You & I, though.
