alicia is much (much much much much) better than usher.

So I take it you like her better, maybe? :P

I'll agree with you, although they are both a little overrated, imo.

Maroon5- They seem to have everything, a talented vocalist, good music, great sales, multiple hits.

Joss Stone- She has a great voice. That's it.

Kanye West, Like I said, i think he deserves to win, I just dont want him to :P

Gretchen Wilson- She has a really good chance. Seeing how they prefer female vocalists, and Joss Stone just shouldn't win, she could do it.

Los Lonely Boys, the critically acclaimed, out of nowhere sucessful underdog...that might jsut win.

But I think its between Maroon, Kanye, and Gretchen.

Kanye got an album of the year and record of the year nomination. He'll probably win :?

Joss Stone can do more than just sing. She wrote a lot of the material on Mind, Body, And Soul, unlike her debut which just included covers. Adam Levinge lead singer of Maroon 5 is so overrated, and his voice is not even that good. He goes off key all the time, and he's not a very good vocalist. Just adding my two cents. Oh, and I would love to see Gretchen win as well, seeing that I'm a huge fan. :)

Long over due? That skank has only been out for 5-6 years! Long over due my ass! She's easaly one of the worse so called artists of her generation.

Led zeppellin have been out for 30+ years, they are recognized as one of the greatest rock bands ever and they have not won any grammies!

When was the last time a good positive song about Jesus was released?

I guess they should have just nominated the masterpiece that is Joe Nichol's If Nobody Believed in You

I like Jesus Walks, but I'd rather see Jesus of Suburbia win at next year's awards :)

Green Day's and the Killers nominations are truly the only ones there based on talent and artistry.

everything else is crap and they were nominated solely because of commercialism.

blah. if i were an artist i would never want to eb associated with a grammy.

Well, in the Country section, it definently isn't all about commercialism.

Loretta Lynn, Johnny Cash, Lyle Lovett, Asleep at the Wheel, the Dixie Chicks, and Tift Merrit were all nominated but received little to no radio play/CD sales this past year. The Dixie Chicks did have that, and the album this song is off of has sold 6 million copies, but the song tanked on radio.

Did the song get ANY airplay at all?

I just remember the video (Top of the World) got airplay for like 2 weeks, and that's about it.

Loretta definitely deserves her 5 nominations :)

I really hope Green Day sweeps. They deserve everything they are nominated for. They have proved over and over to be one of the greatest bands, imo. And American Idiot, imo, is their best CD.
