Do you guys listen to any bands that aren't famous? I listen to a few bands that none of my friends had never even heard of till I talked about them. Tom Waits and Humple Pie are both amazing and very few people I know have ever listened to them. Do any of you guys listen to anybody that we here might not know of?

Tom Waits rules...just wait until Snrub discovers this thread. Nighthawks at the Diner is my favorite album from him.

As to the question...I listen to alot of Opera, which no one's seemed to ever hear of. :D

Besides that I listen mostly to Blues and Motown, folk, rock, whatever. I listen to almost anything except for, like, lymp bizket or whatever my freshman year roomate used to play al the time. Man did they take George Michael's Faith and really butcher it.

I guess people don;t know The Carter Family, or Robert Johnson. The rest of my stuff people know, they may just not personally own it. For something a little newer, I guess Lamb.

I love The Shins. The song from Garden State (Caring is Creepy) got me hooked.

String Cheese Incident is unique (a mixture of Phish and bluegrass). I'm not a big fan, but it's nice to see someone who's familiar with the work (or, at least, the name...). They've honestly got as many bootlegs as The Grateful Dead or Pearl Jam!

Sigur Ros is...Sigur Ros. Some of it's relaxing, some haunting.

Atmosphere ranks around my favorite rappers/rap groups. I'd put Slug there with Hieroglyphics, Tech Nina, The Roots, Nappy Roots, Jedi Mind Tricks, Jurrasic 5, and, of course, The Beastie Boys. "Always Coming Back to You" is amazing.
