Yes, I agree with this. Democrats need to think of ways to inform people and counter the propaganda machine. Be more vigilant and call out Trump's dwelling on the division among us by making issues more divisive instead of searching for solutions.

I didn’t say it would flip, but it’s not necessarily a landslide like you say. The popular vote in 2016 was literally a 49/51 split.

This is a huge shocker right here. Apparently there’s growing belief within the Pubs that Kamala Harris ... is not American!! :whaa: And I guess she’s not really black either. These Libtards tried to install a secret Mooslam once but not again on my watch gawd dammit!!!

Seriously though, all she needs now is for Trump to nickname her Kamala Kong and she might actually have a chance at winning. What a huge week for her.

Don, Jr. retweeting that Kamala isn't a real American is the only time Trump has been proud of his son

I still don't think anybody really cares about it tbh. Biden sank due to his own shitty performance, she rose due to new-found attention.

Best news is Bernie sinking. Would love to see Warren consolidate his support into hers.

Yep, the more Bernie struggles, the more Warren gains. Though I'm fascinated by Biden voters going towards Harris.

If this ends up Harris vs Warren?! Holy cow.

It's largely black voters who have flipped from Biden to Harris (at least for now).

In previous polls, Biden was dominating the black vote while Harris was barely registering simply because of name recognition. Since then, Harris has been campaigning well and the debate exposure/attention has allowed voters who simply didn't know of her, or much about her, to consider her.

The black vote is what largely wins one the Democratic primary, so whoever is able to secure it come the actual primary season is in excellent condition.

What's interesting now is there could be a split vote among black voters between Biden and Harris, similar to the left-wing/progressive vote split between Sanders and Warren. It's going to be interesting.

Castro
Buttegieg

My ideal would be Warren / Harris.

Although I'd love to see Pennsylvania's governor Wolf as Vice President.

Does this imply there’s a Republican besides trump you’d consider voting for if the democrat candidate weren’t your favorite? You seem like someone who would never support anyone on the other side for any reason ever.

On the topic of moderate republicans, who do we think would be challenging President Clinton II if things had gone differently in 2016? Do they pivot towards the middle or go even more extreme right? Probably Ted Cruz? Has the support of the deplorables but he also famously refused to endorse Trump at the convention.

No clue. They've gone so far all in on Trump because he won it's insane. It would probably have to be Cruz? Assuming he still beats Beto in 2018.

The recent AOC vs. Pelosi debate sheds light on a very, very real and growing dynamic worth following within the Democratic Party. Pelosi said that regardless of Twitter and Media support - as she said, "public whatever", AOC and her allies represent 4 House votes. AOC responded by saying her "public whatever" was actually "public sentiment".

The translation between the being that Pelosi is saying regardless what AOC may feel she has backing her in public sentiment, they only represent 4 House votes. If there is such public sentiment supporting your cause, you would have more than 4 allies on your side.

I think the divide between regular, every day voters who lean to the left & the super Liberal social media crowd is growing very large. I also suspect the former group vastly outnumbers the latter group. Democrats taking positions or nominating candidates to gain favor of the social media crowd may be doing so at the expense of the every day crowd who is actually much larger.

Well obviously the SJW twitter mob doesn't represent the whole country and yes the democrats shouldn't constantly bow to them by making their main platforms be health care for illegal immigrants or Death To The White Patriarchy. But, the Tea Party was certainly on the fringe when they first started out, drawn together by the outrage of having a black president tell them what to do. Ur gonna take my money AND guns? I don't think so! But they managed their message in a way that made it seem like they were concerned about the federal deficit (which they no longer seem to care about, shocker). The real foundation of this far-right element of the party started in 2009, by 2012 they had taken over Congress and by 2016 they had all three branches of government secured, no checks and balances needed. Liberals suck at organizing people, we've had Occupy Wall Street and Black Lives Matters movements this decade, full of extremely passionate people supporting the cause, and like Excel said, it's resulted in four congressional seats. It's definitely harder to sell people on the idea that they NEED to care about people they are unfamiliar with, especially if those people are gonna be taking our hard-earned money than to scare people into thinking the scary unfamiliar people are also the reason for all of their problems. But there has to be a way to do it. I know AOC has gotten this far on her fiery rhetoric, but if she relaxes and communicates to people in an inclusive manner, rather than the finger pointing tour she's been on, she could be the inspirational leader this side of the party desperately needs.

Worth noting that the tea party success seems exaggerated. They won the White House by sheer miracle and have lost the house.

Dems too stupid to put aside an agenda everyone but the far left sees as socialism will keep the senate and White House in GOP hands though, no doubt about it

I think there was a study recently that showed that the average belief of Democrat voters, particularly white Democrat voters, has swung quite far to the left in the last 5-10 years. The super liberal social media crowd has a huge effect on discourse in the media and that affects people's views.

Old news: Eric Swalwell was the first to drop out of the presidential bid among the 20 candidates in the debates.

I think Hickenlooper or Ryan might be next.

Post Re: The Favorite 2020 (Phase One)
Lineup for the second series of debates:

July 30
Pete Buttigieg
Steve Bullock
John Delaney
John Hickenlooper
Amy Klobuchar
Beto O'Rourke
Tim Ryan
Bernie Sanders
Elizabeth Warren
Marianne Williamson

July 31
Michael Bennet
Joe Biden
Cory Booker
Julian Castro
Bill de Blasio
Tulsi Gabbard
Kirsten Gillibrand
Kamala Harris
Jay Inslee
Andrew Yang

Still 10 candidates each night. Too many for too little time. Last debate, poorly directed by the NBC/MSNBC moderators, was a little removed from the current state of the government. Hopefully this time, the candidates will take more control from the moderators.

July 30 will be the more interesting one. Will Sanders go after Warren? or vice versa? They should be able to bring depth on the policy front. Buttigieg has a pretty good grasp of the current political climate. Will he be able to get his message out this time?
