Will have the number 1 movie and song in the nation from Friday at least until Monday. Has anyone else ever had this?

Not that I can think of. Eminem just missed with 8 Mile.

I would guess...

Sinatra
Elvis
The Beatles
Dolly Parton
Whitney Houston

That’s some pretty elite company.

Eminem Lose Yourself / 8 Mile. J Lo had #1 album and movie with Wedding Planner and J. Lo album, I'm not sure she did it with a single and number 1 movie or not

Sinatra and Elvis are candidates but can't find anything about them doing it. The Whitney Houston I Will Always Love You was #1 for 14 weeks but the Bodyguard never hit #1

Yea J Lo had 3 number 1 movies (The Cell, Wedding Planner, Maid in Manhattan) and 4 songs (If You Had My Love, I'm Real, Ain't It Funny, All I Have) from 1999-2003 but they did not align.

Right, I was apparently looking at the "Mainstream Top 40"... Why there are different charts? idk!

Yeah Donald is having a 'moment' right now. Good for him. He has a pretty big ego though so we'll see how long it lasts.

Mainstream top 40 ranks the songs most played on pop stations. The Hot 100 takes streaming, sales and all radio stations into account and is the main bar for a songs success.

Donald Glover (Solo: A Star Wars Story, This is America)
Beyonce (The Pink Panther, Check On It)
Eminem (8 Mile, Lose Yourself)

I can't find any others that have done it. While there are Billboard charts readily available all the way back to the 50's there isn't an easy way to get info on weekend movie number ones before 1982.

So he's the third person to have done it? Hardly worth a thread.

Now he’s headlining Coachella? Can people suck this guy off any harder? I still feel like people like the idea of Donald Glover more than the man himself. This Is America is basically the same as any mumble rap song, has no political substance outside the video, but is treated like its a Huge Importantly Cultural Step Forward for Race Relations.

I think there was John Travolta. 1978

Your'e The One that I want
Grease
I guess you could say Olivia Newton John too.

Even more impressively his show was consistently #1 that during it's time slot and The only album to beat Grease that year was Saturday Night Fever Motion Picture Soundtrack.

Also even though When Doves Cry was also number one Purple Rain and Let's Go Crazy were both #1 around the same time for Prince.

I'm assuming songs from the movie's score don't count. The Sound of Music hit #1 and Julie Andrews was a trained singer but yea, doesn't count.
