Tell the Disney shareholders...next Pixar movie to be directed by Nolan.

I didn't have much love for any of the BP nominees, so I voted for Coco, a film I liked but not loved and thought it had the best chance to defeat two nominees that I did dislike.

I have voted for Dunkirk, but I am happy with Coco winning as well. No other movie in the past years has moved me as much as Coco did.

Very pleased with Ensemble, BD, Best Supporting Actor, and Adapted Screenplay.

And I love that the only award Wonder Woman even gets close to is the award for clothing. lol. #KeepingItReal

This is the third time in the history of the awards that Pixar wins Best Picture. Frankly, at this point this should not come as a surprise. Pixar now has more BP wins at KJ than Nolan.

Nolan on the other hand has scored his fourth BD win.
Beating Nolan is always an upset. Inside Out was too, Fury Road was rolling through those awards. The only thing I remember about the 08 awards is the outrage of There Will Be Blood not being nominated. No milkshakes were drunk.

McAvoy, McDormand, Stewart, Ronan and Krieps are first-time winners. JLaw has scored her third KJ win.

It is the 7th BP/BD split in WOKJ Awards history.

Hehe, I remember that too. But it was kinda forgotten when Ratatouille somehow beat out No Country.

Should these awards take place again, we can pencil in Emily Blunt as an Actress winner for A Quiet Place or Mary Poppins. There is no actress WOKJ loves this much, I think, heh.

Interesting set of winners. Vicky Krieps is a pleasant surprise, though she is definitely Phantom Thread's female lead. ;) Good Time is a great winner in the most-overlooked category.

And I feel all right with the dry, fast-paced, to-the-point unveiling of the winners. Glad these were held. Cheers, Arthur.

These awards didn't really sway me to watch anything. I'm still not interested in Coco or Phantom Thread. I am more tempted to see The Big Sick than I was yesterday, but still, whenever I think about it I see that annoying poster with the Indian fella.

I think he means forever. You remember he wasn't posting before this whole "KJ Awards" thing came around again at the start of the year?

Wait, you said you would watch it since I loved it so much. This was around the time you watched Brad's Status. What a betrayal. ;)

True. I guess since you've not posted much recently, it's a case of "out of sight, out of mind". Start posting more, especially in the EAC section. :P

These awards have made me gotten more interested to watch Coco now. And because of mother!'s nominations I short-listed that (and CMBYN which I saw in the meantime) too.

Too bad, no love for The Post, but glad Good Time won most overlooked.

Not sure I am pleased it was the most overlooked. I would have liked it to have been watched and nominated by more people.

I'm glad you voted for a CMBYN song David but if one didn't win and you wasted your vote on the one least likely to win I would have been mad ;).

I told you that CMBYN wasn't really going to win anything though. At least it got Song. My money was on McAvoy winning Actor.

I wasn't around for the announcements (was at the cinema watching CMBYN for a 5th time ;) ) but I didn't miss much. Coco winning Best Picture AND Best Animated? What a waste :P.

Has an animated film won Picture here before though?
