Yeah I single handedly cost Rian Johnson by giving Greta the #2 spot on my list. Was a tough choice, and I figured RJ would be fine without me. |

I like these noms overall. The small number of ballots made for some unexpectedly strong showings (Call Me By Your Name, The Last Jedi being two that did well in part to ME). For the most part I prefer these acting nominees to the Oscar ones. |

I feel like I should watch Call Me By Your Name but I’m not gonna. Gives me Blue Is The Warmest vibes, which was a real drag even with sex scenes that I really enjoyed. Atleast Call Me isnt 3 hours though... |

These are very nice. There are always a hundred and one ways to say, "But, wait, I wish such and such or so and so were up for this...," but, in general, quite satisfying. I am pleased to see at least a bit of love for my three favorite films of the year, A Cure for Wellness, The Lost City of Z, and Phantom Thread. (Not sure I agree re: Vicky Krieps' category placement, but I am not going to complain.) For the most-overlooked-film category, I am voting for:
