So there's an all male a cappella group at my school and one of the guys in it is a trans female. He's still been acting like a boy and going by his boy name, but he definitely plans to become His female persona permanently in the near future. Should he still be allowed in the a cappella group? |

No. Acapella groups are nauseating. |

If the group is called Transapella it is ok. |

It's sounds like he's still going by his male persona so sure. Plus it's a capella, not Olympic sprinting, it doesn't seem like that big a deal |

Are you in the group and have a say in who gets to be a member? |

And will that make her gay? Or bi? Will she still be attracted to her physically once she has a womanly figure? She's very supportive and wants to stay with her. |

Well, the bottom line is still that it's none of your business and whatever decision they make doesn't affect you in the slightest. So let them do whatever they want. |

We have no way of knowing because we don't actually know this person's girlfriend. Sexuality is complicated. Maybe she'll be attracted to her as a girl, maybe it'll be a problem for her, maybe it won't be a problem at all and it'll work. I guess only she knows. |

Well, I see too many people concerned about this, when it really doesn't affect them. Oh noes, trans people want to use the bathroom! They want to be in the army! They want to have relationships and get married! Who cares? How does it hurt anyone in the slightest? Let them do what they want to do. I really hate this attitude wherein we act like we should get to make their life decisions for them. And your question seemed to be more of that. |

As long as that person identifies as a boy in the present, then they should still be allowed. What if the person changes their mind, *poof* gone with the a capella career for no reason then. Btw. the person still sounds like a boy right? Because if the person sounded like a girl their might be compatibility issues with the group's sound that go beyond the person's transgender status. |

But with gendered aspects of society it raises questions. And it does affect me if I audition for the group and lose out on a spot because of her. |

Not because of his/her sexuality. Don't blame your obvious shortcommings on other people |

My school already has a girls a cappella and a coed a cappella group. She should join one of those. (And yes I know it's not up to me Groucho, simply stating an opinion). I'd hope that she would quit. If she's really going to become a girl she should leave her male life behind completely. |

If they want to be a male group with one girl, there's no law saying they can't. That's the point I was trying to make. Don't like it? Start your own group. |
