PCs should come with parental lock keys
Like, right at the back of the keyboard near the screen, just a key that you press when you leave your workstation that deactivates all keys and the touchpad, so little fingers don't mess around with your work.
My work laptop, Acer Aspire E 14 doesn't have this, but I feel like I have seen this sort of thing before.

Not all of them do. Mine doesn't, for example. I know they have Num, Caps, and Scroll Locks but that isn't what I meant.

Re: PCs should come with parental lock keys
Ctrl Alt Del doesn't bring up lock options.
And it's not in that menu as you say.

And it's not in that menu as you say. Weird. What kind of computer do you have?

Re: PCs should come with parental lock keys
The easiest way would be I'd say, to check these settings: Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Power Options\System Settings
And choose "When I press the power button, computer goes to sleep".

And choose "When I press the power button, computer goes to sleep". That doesn't solve it. Need all keys to be inactive (besides one).

Re: PCs should come with parental lock keys
No, that can be inactive too.
All I want is a parental lock button, like, near the power button for example. And it has to be pressed for, say, 3 seconds to unlock/lock the computer.

Re: PCs should come with parental lock keys
Alright, so this should solve your problem then, I just only found about this now too. Use "Windows" key + L. http://www.dummies.com/computers/pcs/how-to-lock-your-pc/
