LOL. LLL is the exact kind of Oscar bait they most gladly go for. Self-jizz fest without any new artistic merit or original bone inside. It is well made, but it's the safest, most boring possible choice Academy (and other awards) will make in a very long time.

And I agree with i.hope that these two are not the usual Oscar bait. Neither is Hell or High Water. Those three are very much films that play on a lot of subtlety and are too occupied creating believable "broken" characters that enrich the movie history to really be focused on something that gets more trivial each year like the Oscars.

Yeah dude, good quip. Maybe Thegun can use it in his sell-out stand-up shows. I watch over a hundred films a year, and you watch, what...8? And I don't know what a movie is. Good one, fool.

Eh. There are two types of Oscar-y movies. The ones that are shoved down your throat at Oscar season and then you never see them ever again, and the ones that are bonafide Oscar films that deserve the praise. That is what I was getting it. La La Land is in the latter.

People don't care mch about LLL right now. In 3 months nobody will remember it. It's flavor of the moment. In Hollywood especially.
