A fierce storm that walloped Southcentral Alaska over the weekend dumped a foot of snow on Anchorage in 24 hours, causing havoc on the roads and even leading to the collapse of a sports dome in Alaska's most populated city.

Through 3 PM today #Anchorage has 43.1 inches of snow this season. This is more than the total snow either of the past two winters! #akwx

Been out shoveling for the last 3 days, and the snow is expected to keep coming down for the next week.

It's looking like were going to break the January snowfall record :D

You do realize that 2016 was the hottest year on record and with that brings more extreme weather, right?
