The point, my obtuse friend, is that there are people out there (like our Vice President) who hate the Supreme Court decision that said you can't make homosexual actions illegal. They would like nothing better than to outlaw gay sex completely. This Mayor was saying "How would you like it if we did that to you? Doesn't make any sense, does it?"

There is an ever shrinking movement to ban gay marriage, but banning any type of sex would obviously be an invasion of privacy.

Tried to get Trump to issue an executive order declaring premarital sex illegal

He wants sex outside of marriage to be illegal; he doesn't believe gays should get married; therefore he believes gay sex should be illegal.

There's a difference between disapproving of gay sex personally and wanting it to be illegal. I don't personally like the idea but I know it's not my business. I'm sure Pence disapproves of gay sex but he's shown no signs of wanting to outlaw it.
