I hate to say it, but my first thought was: did she complete her work on VIII? Then it drifted to: well if she dies then there is no way they can bring Han back at any point (even though I think that'd ultimately be stupid). Then I thought of the irony in dying immediately after releasing a memoir.

The notifications I've been getting on my phone have been fascinating though. First it was she had a "massive heart attack". Then it was a heart attack. Then it was cardiac arrest. Now it's a "medical episode". Another example of news outlets wanting to be first instead of wanting to be correct.

At least she seems to be in stable condition though.

Principal photography ended in July, so barring any reshoot, she did.

She will have to be written out of IX unfortunately.

This is terribly shitty news. Man, seemed like she was stable.

It's not just the big losses this year, but the losses of people who were still working and doing some of their best work. This was a huge time for Carrie to be a part of the Star Wars revival and have a (presumably) major part in it.

I honestly am one of the ones not too concerned with her Star Wars role. There may have been great plans for her in Ep 9, but her role in Ep 7 felt out of place.

It's really just sad that she died. She was a great actress and actually younger than my parents. It's always scary to hear of people younger than your own parents having heart attacks, especially considering both my parents are overweight. Not huge or anything, but each one probably has at least 50 extra pounds on them.
